Takara Tomy has previewed yet another new product line in Japan, this time with New Legends, perhaps a replacement for their version of Generations Selects. We have little to go with the first figure announced being NL-01 Lio Convoy Legendary Green Lion Ver. based on the Beast Wars II episode "Legend! The Green Warrior". The figure itself is based on the retooled 40th Selection figure but now features a glow in the dark body. This is a deco that has never been done in figure form before.

Below is the machine translated post from @TF_pr:

From the anime "Beast Wars II", the legendary Lio Convoy in the form of a legendary green lion that has been waiting for commercialization for many years is now available!
The main body is made of luminous material, and it is possible to reproduce the appearance of glowing green like the main anime scene!

<Pre-orders start on Wednesday, January 14, 2026! >
■New Legends NL-01 Lio Convoy Legendary Green Lion ver.

Let us know what you think of Takara Tomy's latest line and what figures you'd like see show up in the figure over in the Seibertron Energon Pub forums!

Interesting. One more color variation to add to Lio Convoy's never ending color changes it seems.

$20 bucks says we get Galvatron and Flash colors in the not too distant future. :-D

I can vouch the Marketing team at Takara Tomy spent a good deal of time to come up with the new toy line name New Legends.

The glow in the dark feature does give it a premium feel of an adult toy.

For some time now Transformers fans have been voicing concerns about only receiving three out of the five G2 Stunticons with lots of speculation as to how the remaining two members will be released. Over in Japan it appears these figures have now become obsolete as Takara Tomy begins taking pre-orders on a complete box set featuring the G2 Stunticons in their true unreleased decos rather than the stylized takes we've gotten. This set represents the second figure in the New Legends line after Lio Convoy Legendary Green Lion Ver. The set is scheduled for release in September and priced at 33,000 JPY (around $207 USD) but will be substantially lower at Japanese retailers.

Time will tell how Hasbro chooses to address this.

So do you plan on buying these guys all over again or are you satisfied with what we've gotten in hopes of the current set being completed? Let us know over in the Seibertron Energon Pub forums!

I'm sorry, but those colors were awful back in the 90's, they don't look any better now.

Acid was prolific back in the 90's. Appears nowadays too. Looks groovy, man. *peace sign hand gesture*

So, Mark Maher posted to Instagram that Hasbro would be completing the G2 Stunticons, but it would take some time to do so. That post has since been removed so who knows if that means he said too much, or if Hasbro execs said no, there's no reason to finish them now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My guess is it was in the original plans, but TakaraTomy having no qualms with box sets beat them to the punch. Makes me wonder if the rest will follow suit. Which reminds me, we still don't have a modern update or both G2 Devastators... :-?

Of course, Takara complete the set before Hasbro does.
I'll just be patient.

Notice that the decos on Dragstrip, Dead End, and Breakdown are also different from those of their Hasbro toy counterparts.

Plain? Reserved? Subdued? Not as flashy or lavish or extravagant.

Looking closer at the shoulders, they seem to resemble the two-colored shoulders of CR Black Convoy/RiD 2001 Scourge. If Takara's using Hasbro names for this line, it could be "Star Scourge".

So... White Dwarf Nemesis? Super Nova Nemesis?

Will it have a Rodimus Unicronus?

The name they've decided on is a mixture of both Hasbro and Takara names: NL-03 Nemesis Star Convoy

Oh God... I love me some Nemesises, but this one may cost a freaking fortune factoring taxes and shipping. I may have to pass.

Instead of a Hot Rod redeco, Nemesis Star Convoy comes with a redeco of Core class Shockwave in the colors of Energon Shockblast, but named... "Soundwave"? Huh?!!

My friend often mix-up "Soundwave" and "Shockwave."
So, he may not be alone.
