First look at NL BWII Galvatron and Gigastorm, ML Ratchet, MPG Blaster and Tapes and Much More

The Takara Tomy booth at the Shizuoka Hobby Show was home to several new figures, some previously announced and some we're hearing about for the first time! Most exciting among them is an all new figure for the New Legends line in the form of Beast Wars II Galvatron. What's interesting is he's being listed as NL-06, meaning there's two figures missing between NL-03 Nemesis Star Convoy and BWII Galvatron. And we don't even have to wait to see what comes after Galvatron as he'll be joined by NL-07 BWII Gigastorm! The Titan Trypticon retool will include Gigascouter (Full Tilt repaint) with what appears to be a Titan Master based on Megastorm, at least in bot mode.

Moving on we've got a first look at Missing Link Ratchet. Only surprise here is that he and Ironhide seemingly aren't being released at the same time like we've seen in other ML figures that share the same mold. He's basically what you'd expect from the figure. Price will likely be the same as Ironhide, we'll let you know when we find out a release date.

Next we have the gray prototype of MPG Blaster, Ramhorn and the Eject/Rewind mold. This is the first time we've seen these two tapes. Ramhorn looks shockingly complex with a lot of panels and moving parts, even a neck swivel. The Eject/Rewind mold looks to be as good as any larger bot in the line, even working in ankle tilts. Preorders haven't begun for any of these yet, but it probably wont be long.

Surprisingly we're also getting a repaint of MP Rhinox, this time in his evil purple hue from the episode Dark Designs. This version of the figure will have several nods to the original toy such as a sword and toy accurate head with mutant mask. Don't be surprised if we see this mold released down the road as an accurate toy redeco.

Shifting things over to Overgear we've got our first look at Optimus Prime in color. Unlike Ironhide and Blackout, Prime is dominantly khaki and blue in alt mode with red mixed into his bot mode. It's quite a contrast, they even gave him a flame deco. Looking at him from behind he looks like he's made of tires. He's a great looking figure that will probably see a few repaints in the future. More info as we get it.

The final big surprise is Adamas Machina AM-T03 Star Saber based on his appearance in the IDW comics. Like Rodimus before him he's directly based on the Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri figure from 2019 as a cooperation between the two companies, but with the ability to Transform. Despite the impressive stature in the images he'll probably only be a little bigger than Rodimus since the Kuro Kara Kuri line doesn't concern itself much with scale. He will be a much bulkier figure so expect him to come with a larger price tag.

There was also a quick teaser for the next figure in the Evangelion crossover. That's all of the major new announcements at the Shizuoka Hobby Show, let us know what you think in the Seibertron Energon Pub forums and a big thanks to everyone that posted about these in the forums already. Most images below come from Dengeki Hobby and T-Spark on X while the close-up shots of Ratchet come via Toy Habbits

WOW!

o.k, Gallvy looking good. Wonder if this will be exclusive to Takara's NL or if we'll see him as a Commander over here like Magmatron.

No real attachment to NSC but still looks pretty cool.

Gigastorm is well not totally unexpected. Loving the large yellow horn.

ML Ironhide and Ratchet look really nice. But I just can't import these with those prices seriously.

No real need to Blaster. Maybe in Twincast colors down the road. Ha!.

Rhinox... hmmm looks good. I skipped MP-56, but might just get this one for the Mutant head which was not included with MP-56. We'll see.

Real Gear Prime looks soooooo cool. I can almost guarantee there will be a repaint in more traditional price colors.

Adamas Machina Starsaber, need to see his jet mode, but damn he looks expensive.

The evil Rhinox is something I always wondered whether it would come or not, and I am pleased that the answer is "yes", even though I am probably not getting it due to shelf space.
Still a better mold than Blaster, that is kind of bland IMHO, although the OC wasn't that complex to begin with. Still it'd be nice to see it re-used, like most molds since the MPG line came out, for something more inspired than the inevitable Twincast: personally I'd root to see it in its original pre-Transformers colors - the blue version as "Soundwarrior" (after the radio shipped with MP Loudpedal), and the red one as "Bluster" (after the absolutely-not-an-error character from IDW comics). Then all it'd be left would be to give us a proper "Toaster & the Crusticons" as well

The ML Ironhide co-pilot was lady in black. Now it appears she has put on an orange vest!

The name placards say that Gigastorm (ギガストーム) is NL-06 while Galvatron (ガルバトロン) is NL-07. The confusion may have come from the picture of Gigastorm's placard appearing directly after Galvatron's images while the cleanest pic of Galvatron's placard appears in the middle of Gigastorm's images.

am I mistaken when i think this figure of galvatron is just the exact BWII Utra figure, but then scaled up?

I really liked that we got new engenering for Transmetal 2 Megatron and for Commander Magmatron.
I would be disappointed if this would just be an upscaled version.

Especially with the amazing work they did for ML Ironhide.

Definitely not an upscale, the head alone is a big improvement. Also of note is the portions of the tail on each arm have an extra joint for tail articulation.

The only one that piques my interest is Overgear. I will get him if made widely available.

okay well Galvatron is a must buy. He looks perfect.

I don't want to want Gigastorm. Make no mistake, I do want him, but I don't think I can justify the cost or spare any shelf space. Trypticon is already the most voluminous titan because he's both tall AND deep. Gonna have to do some deep thinking on this one.

Nemesis Star Convoy is also growing on me a lot, but again I really have no place in my collection for that. I don't go out of my way to collect Nemeses, and vanilla Star Convoy is already a hefty lad, even if he's smaller than other titans.

Overgear Prime looks good but I'd prefer him in either monochrome like the teaser images, or traditional Prime colors. I suspect they'll make that second one, they've never been known to shy away from easy Optimus recolors.

Adamas Machina Star Saber looks cool but I have no need for it.

The rest.... is cool.

How have there been no news posts about the latest updates for Gigastorm and Galvatron? The former is up for order and the latter has had a color teaser, with the full reveal on July 8. Maybe I"m in the wrong thread but the front page is barren and a skim of the toy subforum doesn't show any other threads that would seem applicable to New Legends.
