Forgive me if this has been posted already. I looked but didn't see anything.

Does anyone think that the next Classics/Universe series will include any of the BotCon exclusives? I.E. the rest of the seekers.

What classic characters would you like to see in the next series? hopefully we'll see some of the movie characters and a few more Decepticons. Maybe
Kup
Blitzwing
Cyclonus
Jazz
Hound
Shockwave

Rule of thumb: convention exclusives never see general release. Ever. ;)

hasbro stated the convention excluisives will never be released other than in the convention set... it would cheapen the sets value and piss off all the fans who spent $280 on what would have amounted to $60 at retail. other than that in a panel at botcon they said that classics would continue sometime next year (likely to be fall) and we see the following under the "universe" banner

Sideswipe
Sunstreaker
Octane

and we might see the following as well
Jazz
Prowl
Non Prime Repaint Magnus
Non Megs Repaint Galvatron
Arcee

Yes no classic seekers for Classics 2.0 err Universe.

As for Blitzwing, he is confirmed for the Animated Series, and accompanying toy line on Spring of next year. not Classics but will still get Blitzwing as a triple changer.

I really doubt will see many of the Movie and Post Movie TF's other than Magnus and Rodimus. There hasn't been a line without a Rodimus/Hot Rod toy/homage/look alike in years.
I think they'll keep them to the better known characters that will sell well. I doubt many people other than us collectors actually remember Kup, and as such would buy it for their kids if they saw it in a store.

Although I would love to see Cyclonus get the classics treatment.

Hopefully they'll use some of the titanium moulds that were never produced for the new classics. Like Shockwave and Cosmos. I'm sure they'd work out fine in plastic, instead of all diecast.

EDIT: YAY 1000th post!!!! I am now a headmaster.

I am thrilled that Blitzwing is getting in there somewhere, too bad he wont be getting the classics makeover. It would have been great.

I once saw prelim designs for a classics cosmos, hopefully they make that a reality.

yeah it especially sucks because even octane is getting the treatment.. would've been nice to have all 3 con triple changers

Octane is getting a classics makeover but Blitzwing isnt?
That is bizarre, I would think if the decision is based on character recognition, the order of importance would be Astrotrain, Blitzwing and then Octane.

Who knows, maybe they will smarten up and develop Blitzwing.
Fingers crossed.

Precisely why they are putting Blitzwing in their main line for the year, rather than sub line scheduled for the end of that year.

I'm just happy we are getting blitzwing at all. I wish hasbro would re-issue him.

Keep in mind, though, Blitzwing was reissued. (Sure, it was Japan, but that's beside the point.) It's more than Octane got. Octane's basically been ignored since 1986.

I wonder what galvatron will look like. I hope as far as the ultra figure goes it is ultra magnus. Also you forgot to mention that there will be an brand new combiner as well weather it will be in classics 2.0 or the animated series has yet to be announced.

I just hope ol' Octane doesn't wind up with Cybetron Jetfire's "I get the shelf to myself because my stupid wings done fold up" syndrome.

as far as cyclonus, there is a classics cyclonus being made by some people in asia but its a custom made cyclonus and its awesome. I bought one for 200$ and since hasbro/takara will unlikely ever do a classics cyclonus, it was well worth the money. If you guys ever see an auction on EBAY for a custom cyclonus, i highly recommend going after it.

so let me get this straight, for classics/universe we have to wait a whole year? I thought the line was going to start here in a few months and get going full force next year... guess i was wrong...GRRRRRR.

As far as blitzwing goes... if his animated character doesnt look good enough, I then will be forced into creating one by kitbashing or just making one myself LOL.

Is it the same group that also did the show accurate Wheelie as well? If is is, from what I've seen that Cyclonus looked pretty good. I wouldn't have spent so much but their stuff does look quality.

Gonna have to disagree with ya, I think there's a very good chance of getting a Classics Cyclonus. They even mentioned during the Hasbro panel that they were going to try and get characters other then season 1+2 out. Galvatron is getting the classics treatment, there's no reason to think that Cyclonus won't get one either. I have seen the auction you've mentioned, and the fact that the classics is continuing is one of the reasons why I didn't bid on that Cyclonus you have. Very impressive design however and I think that his Wheelie is just as good.

I'd say wait to see Blitzwing, IMO, he looked great! But definitely wait to check him out.

Is it likely that the Blitzwing for the Spring 2008 toyline will be, for all intents and purposes, a Classics Blitzwing in non-Classics packaging?
