Cybergundam of Toyskingdom.com.hk has posted a scan from a japanese toy magazine of two new Transformers Movie figures, exlusive to Japan. They are clear plastic versions of the Optimus Prime and Starscream protoform figures, released as preview toys of the Transformers Movie toyline back in May of this year. The figure will be available to attendants September 18th-19th at a cost of 3'000 yen and are exclusive to the C3 Hobby Convention in Japan.

The fiery detailing on the front, that I get. But clear? The hell? Doesn't seem to fit.

I like the clear idea but the orangey yellow on th4e front has to go. I know its suppose to be the entry flames but it looks like crap. I doubt hasbro will make these.

I was wondering, 'Could anyone make these toys any uglier?'
Now I have my answer!

they are neat and good as a con exclusive but kinda pricey after you pay for the import.

Will be nice to watch for if the price is still reasonable.

I don't know, as a Protoform they look kinda neat to me. I think the existing ones have awful color/paint schemes and these ones actually give some life to the toy.

Wow. Crazy cool. You won't see me shelling out for 'em, but they're still kinda trippy lookin'...

The entry modes look more like comets (like in the movie) now, but the robot modes just look silly.

Clear Rockformers...
Translucent-ness kinda suits these figures, makes something somewhat decent about them.

Man, I need that protoform Prime, it's looks awsome in clear plastic with the re-entry damage! The clear plastic gives it a cool alien-look, he would go perfect with the rest of the movie cast!

Of course, I'll never get it since it's too expensive and I have no means of acquiring one.

Yay.

I actually like the Protoforms... But this is not a good look for them, at all.

I'm going to have to try and get me each of those...especially Starscream...

I actually liked the original protoforms but these are awful, they look unfinished. I suppose there are completists who will buy these.

what's the point of clear figures?

Invisibility is the only reason I can think of, but even that is pushing it.

I was severely underwhelmed by Botcon Mirage and his "invisible" look, these protoform exclusives dont fare any better with me.

Not too bad in my eyes, but I won't be getting them.

They were hardly in the film and they get this kind of exclusive treatment! BIZARRE!
