That's a very nice repaint.
Is it yours? If so, post it in the fanart forum.

the right question is "will it be mine?" That depends if I have about $400.

I think what's interesting is that the Leader Class Megatron is a pretty crap figure that I will never buy, but with a repaint like this: who could resist it? Why can't Hasbro introduce movie-accurate paintjobs? Why has Hasbro never focused on getting good paintjobs on any figure they have ever brought out?

I like the silver paint but I'm not too fond of the brass coloring. He looks like a messy eater.

The painting skill that went into this is quite good though.

Don't like the brass colouring? Compare with the CGI image:

The paintjob is THE most accurate movie rendition there is.

Ah thanks to their own poopy paintjobs they have lost another potential Megatron patron, especially after he saw this new one.

i.e. ME.

It's just a fan re-paint, not an official one.

here's some pictures of the awesome face:

and feet:

notice that unlike other artists who use a wash to add an effect of aged metal, this artist has added a stained finish - like the metal was rusted or was oily.

...$400.00? For a custom??

No offense, it's a beautiful piece, and the work is quite detailed, but I'm sorry. For the cost of the figure, an airbrushing kit and all the required materials, you're still nowhere near close to $400.00, and not that close to $100.00

I know the old adage "Time is money" but this person's time isn't worth that much. Sorry, it isn't.

how many hours do you think he spent on it?

Well, without talking to the "artist" (and to some, it could be considered art. It's amazing what one can do with a can of paint, or a sticker.) and adjusting for his slightly inflated amount of time...

I can't honestly say exactly how long he or she spent on it. I wouldn't be that presumptuous.

But I look at it this way...if I spent the time repainting it, do I really deserve $400.00 for about $90-100.00 of supplies (figure included) just to repaint it? Not really. Yes, there is the detailing, which can be excruciating difficult, but some of it's downtime, waiting for the paint to cure and seal. (During that period, you do nothing with the figure, or you shouldn't...)

But I undercut myself when it comes to things like this, so I'm probably undercutting the person behind this as well.

Yeah, but in the CGI image there is not as much of a contrast between the brassy color and the silver color.

When I see Megatron's mouth area, I think he ate too much peanut-butter because he didn't wipe his mouth clean.

yeah its a nice job, except the CGI model paint on the face was an ideaq more or less then what was actually used for the movie.. I am gonna have my friend model his repaint of My Megatron after this one..

do you really think that if the guy spent $100 in supplies then I should only pay $100 for the thing? I am thinking for his artwork, it would cost at LEAST $30 an hour. That's just for labour, but then there's issue of skill - how much is that worth? I haven't seen a Megatron repaint as good as this one - so what is that worth?

I'd but that one instead of the leader class megatron original.
