Plight of the Bumblebee

I've been having a hard time finding the new '08 Bumblebee, but wait. This isn't one of those whiney, "I CAN F!ND BUM8LEBEEEE!!?!" threads. I went to Wal*Mart a few days ago and they had like 5 Arcees and 0 BBs. So I was pretty pissed and thinking scalpers had got him. So I come back today and there's 2 BBs there. I buy 1, bring it home, and try to transform him.

This is the real purpose of this thread. I can't transform him properly, b/c he's incorrectly assembled. It's the black round part with the 2 grooves sticking out that's attached to to the wheels and arms and stuff that you have to pull out from car mode. I pulled it out, but the one on his right arm is put in backward, so that the one groove that's indented for the door piece to fold into is on the wrong side!

So I ask you, should I return him and get the other 1? Or should I try to fix him? Is this a common problem?

UGH! :BANG_HEAD: This is so aggrovating!

My advice is to get your @$$ as fast as possible back to the store and change the other one, because chances are high that another second goes by and other one's long gone by the time you hightail it back there.

I had to take my first one back. The store had six, and by the time we got there to return the defective one, there was one left. Total elapsed time: about an hour and a half. Mine was crappily built too, hopefully you can find the other one still to exchange it. I barely did.

Mine is fine. I would try to exchange the one that you bought and show them the problem you are having.

Both of mine are fine, and If the problem was more widespread we would have heard about it by now, so I'd say try to return it quicksmart!

Yep, I went and exchanged it as soon as I posted here. My new BB is fine, except for some sub-par paint apps in a couple places. But I guess that's the price I have to pay for 1 that's correctly assembled. 8-| You know, it's things like this that make me wish Hasbro had a parallel line for collectors; with same figures, but with better paint and quallity control, at a higher price, ofcourse. I mean who wouldn't want the "GoldBug" on the back of the packaging as opposed to the plain, dull, imperfect BB in the packaging? Or for a more dramatic contrast, look at Leader Megatron. Then look at all the fantastic, movie-accurate repaints!

All and all, Bumblebee is a great figure. Not quite worth the aggrovation I went though to get him, but still a grade A figure.

We've got 3 '08 Bumblebees in our household and the only problem with them is the paint on the doors. No problems with limbs or any other parts. Even with the paint flaws I still give all of them A+++++ ratings.

Take it back. You should be able to get another one.
