Just got it as a gift. In my area, anything other than movie figs are hard to come by and I have never seen it before. Anyone got him and have any feedback?

He is a nice figure. Triple changer, Shuttle/Train/Robot.

He looks really nice in Robot mode. And has a nice large gun to hold. He's not the best of the Classics line. but he's the first triple changer rendition of Astrotrain we've gotten since the G1 days.

You probably won't find much of anything from the Classics line is it ended officially a couple months ago.

There will be a Classcis 2.0, if you will, due out in Fall of next year that is 2008, that will go by the name of Universe.

Will see more moulds of that same type, and probably some repaints in it.

I'm having a blast transforming him. Well thanks for the input. I think it's a great figure. By the way, who else in the classics would you recommend?

Rodimus, Starscream, Mirage are some of my favorites of the line but they are all very good I think.

I'd Recommend either Prime or the Magnus Repaint. Skywarp, Bumblebee. Rodimus is nice. I would avoid Mirage, i just don't like him. He's to floppy, or at least mine is.

Grimlock looks good in dino mode, but the robot mode is a bit lacking.

If you want a Gun Megatron that doesn't cost an arm and a leg (*looks at MP Megs*) Classics Megs is pretty good. The color scheme could have been better, but all in all he's a good looking figure.

But the one above all, Jetfire. He's outstanding in every way.

Is packed with firepower, and just looks cool. He's the best figure in the line.

Grimlock, Bumblebee, Jetfire and the Voyager Class Prime and Megatron are great Classics as well

Too bad I missed out on those...oh well. Thanks all, I'll look into all your suggestions.

I was browsing the gallery here, is the Constructicon/Devastator classic any good?

He's a Repaint of an Energon combiner. He's not the best in the World, but i liked the moulds. It would have been better if 2 out of the four limbs weren't the same mould as the other 2 limbs.

Its not a must have in my opinion. Only mildly recommended if you like the combining feature. Other than that its fairly passable.

I'm really annoyed that I've never even seen the Astrotrain fig at all, I'd really liked to have got it.

Astrotrain is a great figure. I enjoy posing him in robot mode.

Yeah I like the combining gimmick. Oh well Devastator won't be first on my list then. Thanks again!

Brought back fond G1 memories for me. Don't like the space shuttle mode though. The train parts look way to obvious.

I don't think you can really go wrong at all with any of the Classics line. I really like them all. Whatever you can still find I would pick up.

Astrotrain is one of my favourite classics, purely because of how clever the designers were to make both his alt modes work so well.

I'd have preferred a steam engine, but the Bullet train alt is a fine substitute.

Try to find yourself a Bumblebee/Cliffjumper and a Mirage, both are excellent figures.

Jetfire is the best figure of his size there's been for years.

I already intended on picking up Mirage and Jetfire.

After hearing about classics Astrotrain here, I looked him up and damn he is one sweet looking fig.

His alt modes are awesome and clever and make the figure a great looking buy.

Thanks for the reviews, I'm adding Astrotrain to the must-buy list now.

I was pleased with the entire Classics line. Astrotrain is pretty good. My personal favs are Skywarp, Starscream, Rodimus, Magnus and Jetfire. Can't wait to see what they put out next year under the Universe title.

Jetfire and Bumblebee are definitely my picks for best of the Classics line.

They're all quite nice though.

I was a little bit disappointed with Astrotrain's train mode, and the joints and swivels in his legs are in the wrong places, limiting his articulation. (Jetfire suffers from this problem too.)

Rodimus has less articulation in his arms than I would have liked, but he's not bad.

Prime and Megs are both good. The colours on Megs were of concern to me at first, but I've grown to love him. It's great to have him as a gun again.

Grimlock is great in beast mode, and his robot mode is okay, but using his mouth as his feet is bad. Very hard to balance him well. Just about impossible to get him standing on one leg.

Starscream is the only other Classic I have, unless you count the Classics branded reissue Soundwave.
Starscream is the reason I started buying Classics. He's a great G1 homage, and his articulation is good. It is a shame that his Nullrays bump into his wings in robot mode though.

I didn't get Mirage because I just didn't like the look of him.

I didn't get cliffjumper because I don't much like repaints and Bumblebee is the better looking and more important characterof the two anyway.

I almost bought Ultramagnus vs Skywarp 2-pack, but I couldn't find one with good paint applications, and I didn't really want Magnus anyway.

I didn't get Ramjet because I never much liked the coneheads, though he does seem to be another good figure. As good as Starscream.

I would have liked to have Botcon exclusive Thrust, but that's just not going to happen. The rest of the Botcon exclusives aren't of much interest to me.

I'd say stay well away from the Deluxe Prime vs Megs two pack. That prime is so bad in vehicle mode, and if you want a tank Megatron, I'd suggest you repaint movie Wreckage or Brawl instead.
