Get Megatron now? Or wait until the next movie?

I really want a big bad guy, especially someone as powerful as Megatron, but I really dislike the current Leader Class's paint job. Should I just wait until the next movie and hope they release a better version of Megatron or Galvatron?

That's my thinking. I think the next version of Megatron will be so awesome. If you believe some rumous that his alt form will be a stealth bomber, his bot form will probably look like a demon bat man.

I pray for the following:
The next form of Megatron will look more like the Transformers we are used, he will have the bucket head although not exactly the same as G1. As for his form, well we have had a tank but I dont see why he could be a tank. He will be voiced by Welker.
Having played the movie game and heard Welkers voice coming out of the "new" Megatron I am glad he wasnt used in the movie becuase it just doesnt sit right. Hopefully the producers/designers will see what they did wrong and correct it for the next film.

People are still harping on that, huh? Well, they already did Megatron once and Movies toys have a trend to put out all new toys for each movie (look at Pirates) and Galvatron hasn't been mentioned anywhere. I figure they won't do Galvatron yet as they do have more Movies planned so I'm thinking Shockwave and/or Soundwave. Both Frenzy and Blackout where called Soundwave at different times during production but they wanted to "wait so we can do him right." Get Megatron now because chances are the next Movie will have a 'Wave in charge.

I'd be happy with a good repaint of the one we have now.

Cuz the current one sucks. It's not worth it.

If you see a Transformer you like now, get it. Cause in a couple years the only way you're getting your hands on it is on Ebay.

Eh, not entirely true. After all, I held off on Primus until he was finally -50% clearanced (though still $50 thanks to UK prices...) a week or two ago. There's always the chance of bargain bins and clearance sales, especially for the large and expensive shelfwarmers.

You are probably better off getting him now if you want him.
He wont be on sale for some time (likely Christmas), and he certainly isnt worth paying $100 for.
Personally I am holding out for a bronze/copper repaint, the light blue just looks horrible, but since there has not been any mention of one as yet (unlike the Nightwatch Prime repaint) It could be a very long time until we see his repaint on the shelves.
There is also the restock problem. When Cybertron Galvatron was released, he was a "blink and you missed him" figure, many stores did not even bother ordering him because they had 10 Megatrons still on the shelves. Galvatron was much nicer, and thus when seen he was bought, Id wager the same will happen for a better repaint of Movie Megatron.

I would pick him up now. He is not as bad as people are saying. He's Megs after all!

Well the lowest price I saw was $90 AUS so far at the Target sale. That's the price I paid for my Prime. The lowest price that WAS discounted for the movie leader figures was $70 AUS at KMart during their toy sale.
Unless the KMart sale is still on and I can get one for $70, stuff it. Megatron doesn't deserve to have as much leeway as Prime. Nor does he deserve to be pampered as my Prime is.

Kmart sale has been over for almost a month.
Target have not reduced the price for the leader figures, which is a shame, they are not worth the $90 at all (either of them).
Big W is the cheapest place to get them normally, they sell him for $85-$88.

Yeah I was in Melbourne during the holiday, so forgive me if I'm behind the times

Mind you the KMart sale wasn't impressive in Brisbane, it was impressive when it came to the Leader prices.

Purchase a Classics Megatron, an MP-05 (if cost isn't a concern) or wait for Classics 2.0 Galvatron.
Leader Class Megatron is disappointing, with his lack of articulation, poorly implemented features, and odd color scheme.

Ha ha! Sucks to live in Australia! I can say that coz I'm Australian. I remember 20 years ago I paid Aus$20 for Starscream. 20 years later I'm paying Ca$15 for a transformer in Canada.

I HATE the colour scheme. Am disgusted by it.
Also am annoyed by the cybertronian jey mode. The more the potential, the more the waste. His fusion cannon and chain whip is also lame execution. Blargh. So much potential, wasted by Hasblow.

What pisses me off is that I come from Hong Kong, model and toy collecting is an excellent hobby to engage in over there cuz it's much easier to find and it's cheaper. But I only got into Transformers while in Australia.
I still remember seeing so many Primus figures in TRU HK last year... aaaah.
