what is about Cyclonus that people love

I have two question about why people love cyclonus:

1. Why does everyone love Cyclonus so much. I know that he was major part of season three of the orignal animated series. But the figure never stuck me as being all that great.

2. Why can't hasbro produce a classics cyclonus if he is loved that much or a better question is why won't they produce that figure. Have they lost mold which the orignal was based on or do they figure he won't sell that well.

A few traits about Cyclonus that I liked was he was one of the more loyal decepticons and Galvatron was nuts so he really had some staying power. Cyclonus in may ways was just a soldier like Ultra Magnus was. The sleek spacejet was also very cool for me.

The toy itself wasn't great but better than some others. I would love to see a Classics Cyclonus especially if we will get a new Classics Galvatron.

I like much of the 86 cast.

I too am hoping for a Classics Cyclonus, although I'm not holding my breath. Hasbro didn't mention anything about him. But I think he is liked because he was such a strong character. He was fleshed out and you knew what you were getting with him. He looked very cool as well, and that never hurts.

I was definately disappointed as a kid when I saw the Toy of Cyclonus. He looked cool and they wrote him well (hs voice didn't hurt either. But his toy was just bad.

They should totally re-do him in the classics line. Add The supposed Galvatron and stand them with Unicron, and your titanium Scourge.

AllI can say is...

Damn!

But wasn't cyclonus just a reformated version of bombshell and if that was the case what happened to bombshells peronality when he was reformated by unicron.

I never totalled liked Cyclonus. I almost picked him up as a kid when he turned up in retail but after I looked at the bot mode I put him back down. I have him now though and he is just alright. Prefer the seekers by comparison!

Cyclonus had many qualities of a Samurai - skilled fighter, philosophical, loyal to his leader, had a code of honor, etc...

That wasn't Bombshell... that was space junk. As far as could be told, Megatron was the ONLY one alive to be reformatted. The rest of them were junk reshaped by Unicron, and given new personalities and essences ('sparks', if you believe G1 had 'em).

I always thought Cyclonus looked cool. His jet mode is fairly show accurate as is his bot mode. As far as the toy goes He is also pretty well articulated compared to other G1 Tfs. I can imagine it being difficult to appreciate a lot of G1 TF toys when you compare them to the Transformers toys of today. It's a kinda "you had to be there" scenario. I think the way the characters were portrayed, on the show and in the movie, had a lot to do with the popularity of the character. I know that sounds obvious, but take Brawn or Bumblebee for example. they were important characters featured frequently on the show yet their toy counterparts lack a face resembling them. So even though the toy doesn't do the character justice we know who and what that character is and it just takes a little imagination to bring that character to life and to appreciate the toy for what it represents, even if it didn't always look like the character. Just for the record I'll take a classics version of Cyclonus any day, but let's get a classics Ratchet, Brawn, or Ironhide first.

I thought they did talk when they were about to be thrown out of astrotrain to lighten his load so he would make it back to cybertron. Although I'm not sure you might be right that by the time they got to unicron they were just space junk and there sparks had burned out.

All the cons were still active when they were forced off astrotrain, by the undamaged cons.

as for cyclonus, i always liked him because he was the exact oposite of galvatrons personality. made a good contrast. im not that big a fan of his toy though.

While I don't have the figure, I loved the character and I the space jet with the backwards wings. Makes me want to buy BotCon Cyclonus. He just so damb expensive though. I hope the make him, Galvatron, and Scourge in the new Classics/Universe line.

Cyclonus was the most loyal decepticon. Especially that alot of them were decieving ,and opportunistic. But Cyclonus is not cool. People or bots that are evil are never cool. His toy wasn't so bad. It's one of the better g1 toys. His hands could of been better. I like his jet mode. His toy was quite accurate to the cartoon. Not many of the toys were. I also like the Scourge toy. Cyclonus was supposely Skywarp. Scourge was Thundercracker. The others were insecticon clones. Which were clones of both Cyclonus and Scourge. Also Cyclonus and Scourge were always together and got along. Like Skywarp and Thundercracker. Skywarp was also very loyal to Megatron like Cyclonus is to Galvatron. Skywarp asked for permission to Megatron. Like Cyclonus does to Galvatron. Scourge was very arrogant and observant like Thundercracker. You can also tell by their color scheme. Skywarp was black and purple. Cyclonus was mostly purple. Thundercracker was mostly blue. So is Scourge. So it's evident.

In the reformatting scene you only see two Cyclonus?Cyclonusalikes being created, both in the same shot, and these are from Skytwarp (or generic seeker in similar colours) and Bombshell (or Insecticon clone, although you only ever see the clones in bug mode anywhere else). This is why there is discourse amongst the fandom about who became who. There was a good Lilformers skit on the subject in the last Club mag. End of the day it doesn't matter. Aside from Starscream's ghost the 1st season seekers and the Insecticons don't show up again so beyond fanboy arguments it's all a moot point anyway.

For me the big draw with Cyclonus was a throwaway line in the UK comics that described him as 'forged in the fires of Unicron'. Now how cool does that sound?

He's the prototype Dinobot without the disloyalty.
