I just got a bunch of 3" titaniums as presents, and i'm absolutely crazy for the Smokescreen one i got.
It would be awesome if i got the bigger version of it, and i know it is a Alternator/Binaltech. Is the big smokescreen any good? Should i get a better one? Are A/B's still avaliable in stores, or am i stuck with ebay?
I've heard alot of good things about Alternators. I've never got my hands on one, let alone seen one in person. Will it blow my mind?
(Heh, sorry for this post pretty much being a bunch of questions)

Big Smokescreen is awesome, but hard to get as compared to the newer repaint, Ricochet. I've owned both, and there isn't much of a difference beside the paint job, however I did like Smokescreen a bit more.
Try Wal*Mart to see if they have Ricochet. Mine had a secret stash of Ricochets, Ravages and Rumbles.
If you'd prefer Smokescreen, well, happy hunting.
The line is discontinued anyway, so you'd be lucky to get anything in stores.
As for alternators being completely awesome, it really depends on which one you get. Some suck, others rock. Smokescreen/Ricochet is one of the latter. Also, I highly recommend Ravage.

Blaster... or the much easier to find Skids. Great bot mode.

Shockblast/wave, looks great in purple and you will be amazed how well the RX8 design fits. Grimlock is also very impressive,if a bit fiddly to transform.
To be honest I doubt that you would be unhappy with any of them. To have a replica vehicle with an interior transform is something you will love.

If you're interested in Ricochet you can get him at Hasbrotoyshop.com for $9.99.

I have to echo everyone here and say you'd probably not be disappointed with any of the Alternators. Personally, Jazz and Dead End are my favorites so far but the Smokescreen and Optimus Prime are pretty cool too.

Wow, Ricochet looks alot like Armada Wheeljack. Man, i can't believe Alternators are quite expensive, and Smokescreen is going for quite alot on Ebay.
Looks like I might have to stick with Ricochet if i can find him somewhere in stores.

smokescreen's price isnt that bad. considering his retail price was 20$ and he's going for about 30$.... its only 10$ more considering how old he is. at least he's not like '08 bumble bee, whose retail is 10$ but going just as much as smokescreen. and im pretty sure smokescreen's price will go up in the future. he was my first alternator way back when he was released. and boy was i impressed.

I'd recommend Mirage. He looks great in both modes and has the advantage of being easier to get back into car mode than most. Ricochet and Tracks are really fiddly to transform back and require patience in lining up the parts. Mirage doesn't have that problem.
