Masterpiece Soundwave --- a possibility?

Given the essentially blocky nature of Soundwave, would a Masterpiece version be so difficult to produce? Perhaps including Ravage or Laserbeak? Further more, how fast would it sell out?

These an MP-3 player Soundwave by Takara coming soon which almost looks like a Masterpiece figure.

I'd prefer something larger than five inches with articulation beyond that of a basic figure, as well as one or two tape bots.

I'm not saying that mp3 player Soundwave is bad, though. I want one.

Screw Jetfire. Grimlock, however...

Those are my feelings as well. Especially since his mp3 mode isn't all that great and I already have an iPod.

I would buy him. Love Soundwave. One of the most recoginizable and loved characters to date from any cartoon.

This may not be the most popular suggestion but if the main Soundwave figure was a little smaller than the other Masterpieces to date that would allow for more tapes to come with him. If you could get five packed in with him and another five with a Soundblaster repaint that's all the Decepticon tapes given the MP treatment. The breakdown would have to be something like:

Soundwave + Frenzy, Laserbeak, Ravage, Overkill & Slugfest

Soundblaster + Rumble, Buzzsaw, Ratbat, Beastbox & Squalktalk

That way there would be two tape moulds that could just be straight recolours in the second set and only three that would need to be completely new pieces. Does anyone think that sacrificing some size on an MP Soundwave would be worthwhile if it meant more tapes?

I'd rather have a full sized Soundwave with only a couple tapes. I hate the fact that they're not really keeping to a set scale for the MP line already so having Soundwave half the size of Prime would outright piss me off to no end.

I think it is highly likely we will see a Masterpiece Soundwave in the future.

Look at the new Encore series - they are coming out with their four most popular characters: Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave. Now which one is missing from the Masterpiece line!

MP Soundwave should be somewhere taller than Starscream but shorter than Megatron. The transformaton should be rather simple for the Masterpiece line.

There is definitely room for a few tapes. We'd probably see a 2 of either of these: Ravage, Laserbeak, Rumble, or Frenzy.

Now I'm the biggest Soundwave fan ever, but a masterpeice scaled robot mode would requier a new alt mode. His menions could be incorporated in a fresh new way like cybertron Laserbeak was. Maybe some ground based intel military vehicle that launches spy drones that convert to the bird buddies. maybe a mars rover drone for ravage. and the two hoods could be radar dishes on top of the truck, what do you think? TX

Well, that's sort of ruining the whole basis for the Masterpiece line. And why would he need a new alt mode anyway?

I'd buy one right away. Increasing the size of Soundwave could allow for some fun other possibilities indeed, the weapons etc.
The guys at Takareissuebro would love it because they can release MP-soundwave and MP-blaster and we'd have to shell money to import MP-soundblaster and MP-twincast (gotta get all those cassettes!)

What I would like as a feature is combining the mp3 possibilities with a masterpiece, where each of the cassettes could be a FLASH based device and you could plug it in to soundwave. it could come loaded with a soundtrack.. or .. as I spent my childhood days, listen to Transformer audio cassettes while reading the comics.
OR.. at least make him an FM radio.. you can put batteries everywhere in a bulkyformer like that.

I'm just not all that keen on an oversised tapedeck alt mode. I always saw him as a micro casset player w/ micro tapes not full sized. Still I see your point in it being a masterpeice line so he should keep the og form. TX

Maybe my idea could work for classics?

Would the tapes be the size of normal cassettes?

Also, if he has the same alt.mode, would they change his transformation, because an enlarged G1 Soundwave would be really rather dull.

You want it prime difficult or megs difficult?
Someone crazy will probably invent a way to open his tapedeck and make his legs and arms appear from the inside.. all complete with plastic notches that break the moment you think about moving them..

Hell yeah.

As for Leo above me, I think they would change the transformation so as to make him more posable and a bit less blocky. Remember what the did with the front wheels on MP Optimus?
