Are they elminiating all price points other than Deluxe and Voyager for "Animated"?

All of the new figures shown for the animated series are either Deluxe or Voyager class. They already nixed the Ultra Class for the movie toyline, now they're apparently getting rid of the Scout class and Leader class. I wonder if they'll bring back the Leader class for the movie sequel toyline?

Those weren't all of the animated toys.

Megatron should be bigger. But then again, it looks like he will also be Voyager.

They will definitely bring back a larger class size in the next movie.

I'm happy for them to scrap Supreme, Leader and Ultra since Voyager is about as expensive as I'm willing to pay for a toy anyway.
Scout or Basic is less of an issue, but usually the toys of that scale aren't as good as the Deluxe or Voyager toys anyway.
Also, having less class sizes means the robots are more likely to be similar in height, which is a good thing, in my opinion.

I'd like them to keep the scout class figures, and it would be toy shelf suicide for them to drop their cheapest and most accessible price point.

Otherwise I think they are fine with Deluxe and Voyager, with a few Leaders here and there, similar to what they did with the Cybertron line. The majority of figures were Deluxe or smaller, there were only a dozen figures between the Ultra, Leader and Supreme classes anyway.

Agreed, I wait as long as possible to get anything larger than Voyager (and even for most Voyagers), to get them cheaper, or on sale.
And to clarify, Spirit and I are both from Australia, so we pay a heck of alot more for figures than the USA does, thats why we are winging about prices.
AU$25-AU$30 for Deluxes
AU$45-AU$50 for Voyagers
AU$58-AU$70 for Ultras
AU$88-AU$100 for Leaders
AU$120-AU$150 for Supremes
and AU$1 is equal to about US$0.80, so you do the math.

I'd be cool with deluxes and voyagers only. That's the instant yes price range in my brain. As much as I'm diggin' the animated toy pictures, I get the feeling my wallet will be screaming at my brain to stop soon enough.

I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't even complain if they put to Deluxe and lower.
I am one of those who hate to have a large toy. Because no matter how big these toys are, they wouldn't be bigger than you. In the end they are just only plastic toys.

anyone know the fate of the legends class figures? they seemed like a way to make easy money for hasbro so if they weren't mentioned, they probaly will continue, but has anyone heard otherwise?

I am looking forward to get the animated legends toys. I love small things, but the movie legends seems to be a step down from the LOCs. With animation, they would not have an excuse and should produce similar transformation to the larger figures toys!

QFT! if they have to be bigger, at least they should add some die-cast in them, like MP-01. heh heh.

Just a thought but 'playsets' were mentioned at Botcon. Perhaps we will see the leader and supreme price points being used for the Ark and Nemesis instead of more traditional figures.

That would be interesting, and would bring smaller figures, like the scouts and legends into more prominence.

Then again the playsets could be more akin to Micro machines, or Might Max (for those who cant remember the mid 90's it was a boys version of Polly Pocket).

I have a feeling that after the success of the Movie line, that future Transformers shows will have much wider variety in the products, we wont just be seeing 15 different price classes of transforming robots...

i think they are meant to be to scale and to look more like the cartoon Imagine having all of them to scale with a huge Optimus and Megatron. It just wouldn't look right
