I have been reading the bio on each of botcon exlusive figures and they always mention Bludgeon as there leader. So I'm wonder if anyone can shed some light on who this character is,

He's a pretender, you know the one that looks like Skeletor with samurai armor?

Anyway, he is a master of metallikato and other martial arts native to Seibertron.

His most recent splash was in the comic books. In Stormbringer, he played a big part as a Thunderwing worshiper controller. He also was featured recently in the GI Joe/TF Crossover by DDP, Black Horizon. He's been a large part of a lot of the comics going back to Marvel G2...

bludgeon was one of the decepticon Pretenders, the G1 line that appeared sometime in 85-86 (i can't remember the exact date) where the gimmick of the toy consists of the TF being encased in a largely immobile plastic shell usually resembling a monster, called the "Pretender Shell".

though he did not appear in any animated continuity (not to my knowledge), he was quite famous in the original TF comics (by marvel i think) and he was commonly associated with Thunderwing, another decepticon pretender.

he's quite a fan favorite because his pretender shell looks like a zombie samurai. check out his original G1 toy here:

edit: i think he was in the 2nd wave of pretenders...he appeared somewhere in 1990 i think.

At the end of the G1 Marvel comics he was Decepticon leader after Megatron and a time traveling Galvatron had been deactivated on Earth and Scorponok and Thunderwing had both bought the farm in the battle with Unicron on Cybertron. All the Classics material from Fun Publications (bios and comics) is set in the Marvel comics continuity fifteen years on, but ignores the UK continuity where Rodimus would by now have succeeded Optimus and the G2 comics where Megatron returned and offed Bludgeon, so in the FunPub continuation of the old comics Bludgeon is still leader of the majority of Decepticons, the exception being Megatron's crew on Earth.

Hopefully it helped.

BTW, if you are looking for the G1 toy he tends to be rather expensive when complete or MOSC anyway.
