GE Prime was also in the wave after Megatron/Rhinox with SS86 Ratchet.

BANG! :michaelbay:

I sniped myself a 100% complete, perfect condition G2 Dreadwing and Smokescreen set... for 41$CAN (30$US) plus taxes and shipping!
That is one hell of a steal! Congrats!

That Battletrap is giving me custom ideas, and I love the seasonal Star Wars figures.

Mutant Beast Wars: Razor Claw

Commemorative Series: Ultra Magnus

OTFCC 2004: Alpha Spear, Omega Spear

Generation 2 Japanese reissues: Battle Convoy (Laser Optimus Prime), Laser Ultra Magnus

Henkei! Henkei!: Ghost Starscream

Kre-O: Kreon Warriors Knight Bumblebee (this one was gifted to me)

Combiner Wars: Silverbolt

Power of the Primes: Starscream

Unlicensed products: replica Super God Sword for Car Robots Brave Maximus (manufacturer unknown), Legacy Armada Megatron shoulder upgrade kit by SamMakesToys, custom Cyber Planet Key by TJOmega (free giveaway)

Post-convention purchase from Best Buy: Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital release of A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood starring Matthew Rhys and Tom Hanks
Excellent haul all around, lots of good stuff there. How does the SamMakesToys shoulder kit perform?

-Kanrabat- wrote:Gotta love when former "rare" and highly sought after toys become "outdated" by more recent releases.

I prepared my sniper rifle to snipe on a eBay listing, only to be THE ONLY BIDDER.

So I won the exclusives Earthrise Ratchet and Ironhide. All and all, with shipping and taxes, both were the price of a regular voyager without taxes. Meaning around 47$CAN each. A very good price all things considered.

Once I transformed them, I can confirm that the SS86 version are far, far superior.
Regardless, these shall remain "pure", without Repros nor upgrades.

Image

Image

I'm glad to finally have them.
Ooh, good job snagging them.
I'd personally like to get hold of these two as project figures. While as-is they may be worse than the Studio Series versions, they're probably better starting points for making a Ratchet and Ironhide with fully-fledged G1 toy-style platforms.

Roadbuster wrote:Completed my Insecticons with Legacy Evolution Bombshell. They lookin' rather spiffy as a proper group now.
Hasbro seriously needs to reissue these, especially Shrapnel and Bombshell. They seem to have been scalped pretty badly.

-Kanrabat- wrote:I FOMO'd on Joe Soundwave so I went to my local geek store to get rid of some older bots to trade it. I got some leftover money for something else. Lo and behold, he just got a vintage Takara Beast Wars 2 C-16 Lio Convoy! It was expensive but I just had to buy it.

Image

Lio is HUGE and GLORIOUS! So many gimmicks! The gold is a bit scary but I never heard that Leo had GPS.

Image

The Legacy is tiny in comparison.
Now that I have both the vintage and the Legacy, might as well get the MP. I heard it's reasonably priced.
I've heard it's also rather un-fun to transform due to the anime-based transformation shenanigans with the mane.
Anyway, congrats on OG Lio Convoy. Would you say the Legacy version pales even more next to the OG than Kingdom Optimus Primal does next to the original BW Ultra-class version?

-Kanrabat- wrote:I randomly went to my local geek store. Lo and behold, SS86 Scrapheap was there! I scuffed with disdain at the Reactivate sets but seeing the Starscream & Bee pack in person, I just couldn't resist the siren call.

Image
Good finds both. I look forward to getting my hands on Scrapheap, especially considering a recent acquisition.

Emerje wrote:Now if I could just find a Studio Series Snarl at a reasonable price. Sucks when the previous figures in a set are easy to find (not so much Grimlock now, but at the time he was everywhere) yet I've never seen Snarl in person and the online stores have long since dried up. Not entirely surprising, all of the 2023 SS Leaders (Scourge, Snarl and Optimus Primal) have been in short supply, I haven't seen any of them in stores. Meanwhile all of the 2022 SS Leaders (Starscream, Sludge and the Fallen) have been on clearance and can still be found discounted. :BANG_HEAD:

Emerje
It's because of the completely idiotic decision to make Sludge's casemate be a Coronation Starscream refresh that NOBODY ASKED FOR - despite stores taking ages to unload the original Coronation Starscream shipment even when he went on heavy clearance - instead of refreshing an actually in-demand figure like oh, I don't know, SLUG. :-x :BANG_HEAD: Thanks for nothing, whoever made that call.
Thanks to Shelfwarmscream, it took a lot of the big box store locations til basically a YEAR after Sludge's street date to actually get him on shelves. And that in turn has held up Snarl getting shelved at those locations... It's a mess.

===========================================================================================================
Now for some catchup on my end:

First, Cybertron Drill Bit:
Image
Image
He arrived before Christmas but didn't get opened til after because family trip. Missing an arm, but I'm confident I can fabricate a replacement and it meant he was $20 instead of $40 and FINALLY HE'S MINE LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN 2010... Stupid negligent smeghead seller... *twitch*

Image
Image
Using some of my Christmas money, I snagged the Recon Mini-Con team with open card (it was actually the cheapest listing available). Nice to finally have them, my Cybertron show character collection is that much more complete now.

Image
Got one of Cybertron Soundwave's guns as a gift, still need the other though.

Image
And most recently, I finally nabbed Studio Series '86 Junkyard ("Junkheap"). He's neat, I love all the retooling work done, and I look forward to getting my hands on Scrapheap too.

Zelda, if you're confident in your painting skills, you could always buy a pair of the Select DK-Guard. I dunno what's it's like in your area, but over here, he can still be found at around 50% off. It make him a great custom fodder. Plus the idea to make the weapon platform is nice. Especially because the thing is so full of 5mm ports and pegs. Too bad there's no room inside the vehicle to store the custom add-ons.

BTW, not much on eBay recently. My sniper rifle is becoming rusty.

-------

On my end, nothing much. Big woop finding the "exclusive" Laser Cycle on clearance at Walmart. 19$CAN, meaning just 3$CAN more than a Core Class is pretty good for a deluxe. plus the SICK REPROLABELS set (with bonus weapons!) make that crappy mold worth owning.

Also, my BBTS loot came. And of course, customs had to hit. :-x

I ended up going AJP on "sale" .
I got tired of hunting for it.

Still very cool, nonetheless.

I just came back from my local geek store and I couldn't resist ordering a pizza.

The bot mode is damn tall, Animated Lockdown style. Of course, he's much more hollow than SS86 Ironhide as a result.

He was expensive, but worth it.

Since the 2007 leader Prime wasn't screen accurate, I use the HFTD leader as my original Bayverse Prime opposite the leader alien jet Megatron.

I went toy hunting at a flea market and came back with quite the haul!

I got some brand new MOTU Origins Stinkor and Webstor at only 10$CAN each! plus a Gobots Heat Seeker at a reasonable 10$Can. My friend got a G1 Nosecone, naked, for 5$CAN.

Image

But the real haul was that roughly 90% complete G1 Metroplex for 80$CAN!
Unfortunately, one leg was missing the entire ratchets set. I dissembled the other one for reference.

Image

Can anyone tell me from those pictures what I'm missing to have a 100% complete G1 Metroplex?

:-?

Got my Animated Bumblebee from that weird Pulse sale. It's actually been sitting in my mailbox all week, but I live throwing distance of an elementary school and my mailbox is on the opposite side of the road so between early morning school traffic and icy roads I couldn't be bothered, better to wait for Sunday morning when there's barely any traffic.

In the end, I think I'll have no choice but to buy another G1 Metroplex who is around 90% complete to get what I'm missing.
Thus, overall, saving nothing and having to pay the full price anyway.

Oh well...

From a $3 Hasbro blind box
Pulled a Rescue Bots Prime from a smashed Hasbro box..
It was sealed,, it could been a pony.

The hoard I've built from the local liquidator store
on the three dollar days over a couple months
20240205_131120.jpg

The JP was together, just no packaging or acc
The others all in smashed boxes, but complete, unharmed.
I passed on Legacy Bludgeon because he was loose and missing everything, but still woulda been $3

Picked up Earthspark Deluxe Starscream this morning at Target. Really like the paint on this one.

Also got Legacy Bombshell from AmiAmi. It was actually cheaper to buy it this way (only $18!) since I bundled it with other stuff to save on shipping.

I'm not so surprised that a toy that is so readily available over here must be imported all the way from Japan for some other people elsewhere.
That's what I had to do to get a SS86 Frenzy (red) last year.

Good ol' bad distribution. Never change. >:oP
