I was lucky to have spotted this unique toy before it was sold out at Amazon.ca.

Year of the Dragon Crimsonflame!
He's a heavy retool of the old TLK Steelbane. But contrary to this previous toy, Crimsonflame is tight like a shy newlywed. He was also priced as a regular deluxe despite coming with tons of accessories.

Appart the dragon head popping off too easily, he's pretty much perfect.

I finally got the Concept Bee Movie Megatron from Amazon.ca!

He's small, but he feel dense.

Also, because I foolishly skipped on the SS Leader DOTM Shockwave way back then, I got instead Spock. It was cheaper than a deluxe, with no taxes and free shipping.

Both look nice together, but I'm looking forward the upcoming Bee Voyager Shockwave.

From Amazon, I got the special core set of Optimus and Bee.

And from eBay, I got yet another G1 Metroplex to complete my other one from the flea market.

Image

A complete Metroplex (minus one missile) at last!

Image

The irony is overall, I saved nothing. That is, if I can sell the leftovers for a decent price. That include this spare main bot.

Image

G1 Metroplex is pretty damn boss! I do hope Titan Metroplex will be revisited. The old Generations sure does not measure up to the original. And the fact that it was mostly a "gamer edition" didn't help.

No it wasn't. Stop saying that. They looked nothing alike.

Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.

"Gamer-ish"

Like a weird hybrid between FOC and G1.

Only thing the two had in common was the sounds they make, the designs aren't even remotely the same aside from being recognizable as Metroplex.

Yeah, it was more like just G1 Metroplex was stretched out to ridiculously lanky proportions, when (as those toy pics so succinctly show ;)^ ) he's supposed to be massive and bulky.

It's kinda like what happened to Tarantulas's N64 game model to make Blackarachnia.

Normal proportions:

Streeeeeeeeeetched out skinny:

Yeah, I was wondering why everyone call that Metroplex "FOC inspired" when even the in-game character is a bulky stocky boy.

Image

Maybe "noodle" Metroplex was considered FOC "gamer" because of that single red light in the center of his chest that the two have in common?

Image

Anyway, Titan Metroplex, as well as Fortmax, deserves a redo from scratch.

The red spot in the center was based on the circle in the center of the G1 toy's chest, which left was unpainted.

Image

Though, oddly, the inside of the circle was colored red in Metroplex's sole Marvel comics appearance, but not in the cartoon:

Le Mao!

It's like someone having just a tiny pimple, but the portrait artist turn it into a huge pulsating zit that is ready to pop!

I randomly happened on the listing of Universe Skyfall on eBay and I just had to jump on it. 60$CAN shipped and taxed was pretty cheap, all things considered.

Image

I seriously love that silly mold. Do I have them all? :-?

Image

Edit:
Yes I do! All 4 complete the mold's collection.
Too bad SG Thunderwing was never made.

Got strong Terminator vibes when I did this, mostly due to his face looking like a T-800 unit. I also thought he'd be due the no-no T-1000 thing from the second film. Heh.

Seibertron has been putting some great things on the site's ebay store! I ordered some vintage Beast Wars figures: Ramulus, Terragator, and Drill Bit, as with Tasmania Kid (Snarl) and Magmatron on the way, it's a great time to fill out the Gathering cast. My brother also was able to get some Armada holy grails, as you can see! His package was delayed due to some USPS shenanigans, but thankfully the toys did end up arriving safely. I never knew if I would ever get to handle Armada Unicron, so having him in my house is quite an experience! He also got himself a Universe Tankor (Octane) as he also happens to be on a Universe 2008 kick (and can now round out his Decepticon Triple Changers!).

Great stuff there.
That Tankor looks even better with the Toyhax labels; if he decides to.

Got a box of stuff from AmiAmi. With the availability being so sporadic I ordered a bunch of stuff from there and just added it to my usual monthly orders to really maximize the high shipping costs.

Studio Series Gamer Edition Optimus Prime
Legacy Evolution Beachcomber
Legacy Evolution Devcon
Legacy Evolution Axelgrease

Also at Walmart this morning they had a bunch of Stuff on clearance in the toy aisle. It was mostly stuff I already had but I did get the Jada diecast Transformers mini figures for $12.50.

I finally got the SS Pablo from Amazon, and I managed to hunt down a Warrior ES Megs for the price of a Core class figure.

20240308_164349.jpg

20240308_190806.jpg

SS Pablo is fiddly to transform but once I figured it out, he become a nice little van. That thing is tiny but nice.

As for the Megs, I generally dislike the whole Earthspark series and I just HATE the faces of those bots. Especially Deluxe Megs who look like he's about to take a bath with a toaster. At least the Warrior Megs have a NORMAL face. And he's pretty enjoyable. He's almost like a legit deluxe! Well worth the price of a Core.
