I don't think quantity matters. To me it's a matter of getting the ones you really like and that are worht your money. I got a pretty small collection; look at the ones on my sig and add blackout, Wreckage, Protoform Prime, Scout Arcee and Revoltech Convoy, and that's all I got. Still, I'd rather have one leader Prime as opposed to four or five Scouts. Just a matter of deciding whos worth it.

Yeah, numbers don't always equal a better collector. Say a kid, who knows nothing about transformers, is given lots of transformers for his birthday, then ends up destroying them, is noty a collector, even though the kid has lots of them. It's all about how passionate you are about collecting that counts. Everyone has to start small.

Don't worry because you're not alone!
I have exactly three also. But I gotta get the new Bumblebee, and that will make four.

The 3 I have are:

Voyager Ironhide
Deluxe Barricade
Real Gear Longview

So...yeah!

I have the complete WST collection including all the chase figures but no worries my friend as you are far from a poor TF collector. That is the whole point of collecting. Each one that you pick up gets you closer to your end goal of owing them all. That was the point of the checklist catalogue way back in G1 times. Keep going my friend. You will get there faster than you think.

Amen to everyone who's said here that it's not how many TFs you own, it's the place inside your heart that the hobby sits.

Hallmark moment, everybody, hallmark moment!

So far I haven't bought any movie toys, I'm only doing the Masterpiece, G1 reissues and Classics.

Between the Masterpieces and the Classics exclusives that cost as much OR MORE than the MP's I'm being selective in what I geSo right now i only have 28, not counting things like the little G1 minibot keychains.

Altertron, you didn't say which three they are...

I own a few more than three, but still not a huge collection.
I've got a few G1s from my childhood. The pride of that section is my now-complete Predaking. Buying Divebomb from eBay to complete himn again is what got me into collecting again.

I only own a few from Cybertron(Soundwave, Sideways, Scrapmetal), only 1 Titanium (Scourge), 1 Alternator (Tracks), 1 Binaltech (Laserwave), 1 from Japanese Armada (Jetfire), Revoltech Megatron.

The Classics I have all of the first wave of deluxes, all 3 voyagers, Grimlock and reissue Soundwave.

Movie toys I've only got Wreckage and Proto Prime, plus some Real Gear (Camera, Phone, Laserbeak), and all the G1 Robot Heroes I've been able to find (Wave 1, 5-Pack, Wave 2).

Since I started collecting just before Classics launched it makes sense that I have more of the recent lines. But the figures I've bought have mostly been the ones I have a special connection to, or the ones I just think are really cool.
The only problem is that all the new Universe and Animated toys seem awesome, so I might have trouble not buying all of them...

...1.

Deluxe Jazz.

And Burger King Megatron and Optimus... We certainly don't have that much money at my house.

But I agree that quantity doesn't matter, I'm still a fan.

I have three heroes Starscream and Mirage and Titanium series Thunder Cracker...I collect waaay too much stuff to avidly buy TF's

Also is it blasphemous if the reason I have those is because my wallmart refuses to restock the 25th anniversery my little ponies?

Sigh. Just found the 25th anniversary G.I. Joe line tonight. Less money for transformers now.

I had about 12 from my childhood, then lost interest. Then when I got into it again add about another 8 more recent toys (movie/classics/cybertron)

I sure wish I stayed into it though..I missed out on some cool stuff

to answer your question spiritofcat,
i have one movie leader prime, one 25th anni dvd prime and lastly binaltech smokescreen gt. i'm still waiting for my mp-04 to arrive at my door. so it will soon be 4. or fantastic 4. anyway i have to pass on mp-05, cuz i really don't have a lot of money these days, and mp-04 is the only toy that i can afford to buy. but i'll be waiting mp-07 or mp-08 in 3 or 4 years that might be megatron's complete edition. including the silencer and the stock.

do you i should pass on mp-05 megatron and wait for a better version of it when takara decide to re-release it sometime in the future. or should i just it buy it for not missing this great opportunity? does anyone have a strong feeling that takara will release a second version of megatron due to the similiarities for they've done to optimus prime(released 4 different molds in total). mp-01, mp-02, mp-04, and the golden convoy limited edition.

The only Transformers who survived my childhood are the three insecticons, the doublespy Punch/Counterpunch, and Pounce (?) that decepticon who transforms into a cougar(?). The only movie toy I have is 74 Bumblebee.

That's a puny collection if it could be called that. But the Transformers have a special place in my heart since they were part of my childhood.

I'm not a collector though. I plan on getting 08 Bumblebee and then that's it for the movie line. I just like looking at them the way they're posed on top of my office table. :-)

I am coming close to getting my second hundred transformers-although to be honest i consider that small compared to some people here.

Its cool to see how many new collectors have been born outta the movie and the classics line.

WE are not alone!
