Panicking about the '08 BB!

Ok.

I'm sure many of us are desperately searching for the new Bumblebee. I feel like I've checked with all the stores around my town and I've called everyday and visited all of them at least twice each. Are they holding all the new BBs for the fall, or is Hasbro just not shipping them out yet? I got an e-mail from them about 2 weeks ago that they had recently shipped all of the Bumblebees to stores. If anyone has a clue about what's going on, please tell me!

Thanks!

There is supposed to be some kind of store (at least Walmart and Target) reset going on during mid-August. So I think that's when people will start seeing them with greater regularity.

I'm almost wondering if the previous sightings (including arcee and dreadwing) were just a fluke and not supposed to go out until mid August during the reset. Just a guess, though. I can't really back it up with anything 'cept a hunch. :)

Patience. Resets are this weekend for Wal-Mart and Target. Go forth and search next week. There are cases of Movie Deluxe figs in the back rooms of every Wal-Mart. I've seen them.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Maybe they weren't supposed to be out that early... :-?

Can't find any up here in CANADA anymore as they were released some weeks ago. Scalpers got most of them as the word got out that the were on an error card with the Decepticon logo on the top right. You can find them on eBay now. Thanks a lot guys.

I went to a Walmart recently and there was a kid there running from one aisle to another searching for BB practically in tears. I had already found two - one to keep MOSC and the other to open so I did not need a third. I was looking for Real Time and High Score 100 which I found and then tucked away out of the corner of my eye I saw a '08 BB. Grabbed it and made a kid happy when I handed it to him. It was a good day. Remember it is not just collectors that are looking for him. That makes it even harder.

I've yet to see any 08 BB in real life. I wasn't really seriously looking before, but now that Comic-Con's passed, it's time to get serious, slightly insane even.

Don't buy one off Ebay no matter what!

Stores will be getting them soon. I walked into a Walmart and saw 3 of them a couple of weeks ago.

lol, if there's one thing I've learned from this ordeal, it's to look in every single nook and cranny for possibly hidden TFs.

Although why people hide TFs to begin with confuses me.

I agree. Sometimes it is a parent that just happens to 'leave it behind' and 'forgot to put it in the cart.' I remember those excuses a lot  . Or it was a collector that was hoping to get it later. That does not work with me though as I have the eyes of an Eagle. :-B

Mate well done. Sending out 10 BB08s next week and the words of delight from collectors and children are more than enough to make my day and reward me for my trouble.

Scalpers are trash who not only do something selfish to make a buck - which granted collectors are often able to pay, if they wish to - they forget that they're doing this with toys that are meant for children who have seen the movie and just want one to play with, not have MISB for display or conversion to liquidity 20years later for the college fund.

I find myself sympathising with every clueless parent going around hunting for that one toy that will send the kid over the moon, not having the slightest clue what is really happening (unless he or she comes here of course)
and that that quest was doomed to failure from the start.

lol, lucky you. I have the luck of an ant on the freeway. : ( I ALWAYS miss the toys I want in the stores. And now my dad wants me to buy him some. But he wants the toys that are the first to go too. >.< BOO!

I could understand the parents thing, but it's kinda obvious that's not the case when it's strategically placed behind the Dora the Explorer display or something, y'know?

And why would collectors come into a store and hide the toy without buying it? Even for me, if I spotted something I hadn't come across and was truly prized, I would snatch it up ASAP, even if I didn't have money. That's what credit cards are for.

or, could it be that the scalpers already got their hands on most of the '08 BB shipments?

Yeah I know. I came across a 'grown up' doing this some time ago at a local TRU. We have storage areas above the shelf display at the TRU stores here in CANADA and I normally open those doors to check what is stored up there. This guy was putting items on the shelf displays up there (Ultra Magnus Energon Repaint). He told me that he was putting them away for his 'friend' to swing by later and get them. Obvious scalpers helping scalpers. The things I have seen will make you want to wish for some cruel and unusual punishment to come down from the heavens.

If I saw that happening I would just buy the damned toy and return it a few weeks later or something.

true...the one thing that i dislike about the most about them, aside from buying bulk stocks of MISB/MOC figures, is the trend of making a quick profit by selling them or starting bids at ludicrously high prices compared to MSRP based on market demand.

and when you try to PM them or ask questions, most of them would be like "take it or leave it". arrrgh! so rude.

Funny you should say that. To finish the story off I waited for him to leave and went back and took the items from the storage area, bought them and dropped them off at the local 'Xmas Toy Drive in the mall. Cruel and unusual punishment came down from the heaven's as his friend searched in vain for something that mysteriously vanished.

Scalpers are bottom feeders in my books that ruin it for all of us. Even kids now with the movie being so popular.

I caught a guy hiding Marvel Legends figs in Wal-Mart, so i waited and after he moved on I took them all and bought them. And I don't even collect Marvel Legends. I gave them to my 5 year old nephew to chew the heads off!
