Figure Hidden Features/Alternate Transformations. (Post Your's!)

NOTE: Could we get this stickied, please? I think this would be a nice resource for everyone to use. Thank you in advance!

If possible, please post pictures of your features, transformations, tips, etc. If not, thanks for trying, we'll figure it out. :) Also, if you got your idea from someone else, and it isn't your's, please put a * next to it, so we know. That way if people come forward, they can be correctly credited.

Movie:
1.) Barricade head: Put it in place for robot mode, and then pull up on it. You'll notice he has a neck. (it doesn't turn, but it's there.) You can now close the hood more, and the base of the head will rest on it. (Makes him look a little taller too.)*

2.) Jazz
Arms: Look where the hood locks in place in vehicle mode, you'll notice a small tab on each side. Notice the black bar that holds the hood to the fender, now pull it all the way until it clicks. Form the arms the way you would normally, but now you'll notice that the arm is thinner and has less of a gap. Those tabs I mentioned earlier, will hold onto the outside of Jazz's elbow. This reduces the hole in his forearm, makes a tight connection, and correctly places his claw right under the headlight. (NOTE: this will slightly stress the plastic on hinges a bit, but not enough to promote breakage.)

3.) Megatron
Hand/Grappling Hook: Remove the spring from the weapon on the left arm, and install it in the right arm. Grappling hook will now fire, and with quite a bit of force.

Cannon: With spring removed, the weapon will remain fully functional and stay open. (So many people had problems with this.) Flip cannon into place for weapon mode, and if you look closely, you'll see what looks like a track on the base/hinge of the cannon. It allows the cannon to slide on the hinge so it sits in the center, rather than off kilter. (First try, the cannon will slide off completely, because the simplistic catch doesn't do a great job, but do not panic. The cannon will not be broken, it slides right back on. You'll feel the catch when reattaching.)*

4.) Ratchet
Right Arm/Axe: Flip out axe, don't open. You'll see that it takes on the shape of a gun, with a hammer (cocking mechanism) even!

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o293 ... hetGun.jpg

Roof rack: Flip the rack upside down and carefully wedge the "claw" in between the shoulders and let the "claw" rest there. The peg will fit in the hole on his back and hold firmly. (This will match the movie model)

Anyone else?

Something simple and kind of stupid.

Armada Demolisher. Transform just his legs into robot mode but leave the rest in his alt. mode. Look out Hasbro! You might get a lawsuit from the creators of MechWarrior!

Movie Swindle. Start in alt. mode and just pull his arms out. If positioned correctly, the front wheels still touch the ground, meaning as a car he could still drive around (as you haven't touched the back end of him) but have his arms and hands out to grap humans.

I didn't know about Barricade's neck. I'll try it out later. Anyway, talking about Barricade, his feet have these little spikes which you can flip up and the top of his arms can turn around and be bent, to give him a more movie-accurate look.

I'm pretty sure everyone here knows about Wreckage and how his blades can attach together to form a Darth Maul style blade.

One thing that isn't exactly hidden but I had no knowledge of is there's a little guy in Voyager/Robovision Prime, and when you open the door the guy magically disappears. My brother found this out while messing with it, and when I opened the door I thought the guy inside actually fell out. :-P

You wanna have some fun with that? The pegs on his weapons are the right size to plug into the holes on his wheels. Spinning blade of death!

As for movie Barricade? Take out Frenzy, unfold him, then fold the legs back in but leave the head out when you put hm back. Hood ornament!

Alt. Ravage has a lot of potential for fan modes. I found that it looks cool when you pull the car hood section up, rotate it, and move it over his head it makes an interesting alternate head. In vehicle mode, pull the claws from the hind legs down and the head as well --- it looks like he's peeking out from his disguise!

Oh, another thing on Alt Ravage, it is possible to have his truck open in car mode, just unlatch the back from the rear bumper, press down on the roof joint and raise the trunk.

Oh, now that's just awesome! I'm putting titanium Laserbeak back there! Oh, if only I had WST Soundwave --- that would be even better.

Something about Voyager Blackout : On top of the main rotors you can see a arrow shaped symbol. This symbol is between 2 pads, you can press on the side of those 2 pads to make them come closer to each other. The opposite pads are also gonna seperate, this will give the pads a look closer to the movie version. You'll now be able to place the pads correctly behind Blackout's back. I can provide pics if necessary.

Ah, but this is different. Shows hidden features, not just alternate transformations.

But is document in the instruction not that I could ever figure out how to do it but blackout's blades are supposed to turn into a weapon he can hold.

There's a hole on the underside of the entire assembly, it rests on one of the posts on his shoulders, and his hand holds the handle.

It's pretty crappy.

I positioned Deluxe Movie Barricade's legs lower so he looks less fat. Also placed his neck higher and I reversed the shoulder plate.

This certainly wasn't my idea, but there's "Monster Movie" Scorponok.
It's shown at the end of this video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT5sf8BVWk8

I'm sure most people have already figured this out but Rachet's instructions depict his axe transformation wrong. The instructions simply show the axe folding out but in reality the panel on his forearm flips up, his hand can be pushed down into the forearm, move the panel back down, and then fold the axe out. This way it looks like his hand/forearm has actually transformed into the axe instead of just an axe folding out next to his hand.

Ryan depicted it here:

I've often noticed things on figures which the instructions don't show. Particularly from the Movie line. Jeez Hasbro boned on that one. The instructions are horrible.

I only discovered tonight that on Ratchet's right hand the thumb is posable. Not something in the instructions but hey, it was a discovery for me :P I had worked out the gun thing when I first got the figure, noticing the 'hammer' and all, but seeing the movie helped. When Ratchet and Ironhide are laying down cover fire for Sam, I sat there thinking 'Ratchet has a gun. So Hasbro actually did put that in the figure. They just didn't mention it. Cool.'

Now this is a personal fave of mine. Found this when perusing Jin's Customs thread. Wreckage double-bladed weapon (7th picture down):

And that's exactly why I started this thread. I just added the alternate transformations thing so people would feel free to add those as well. (It's inevitable. They usually do anyway.)

It's amazing what's hidden in these figures. Such as Cybertron/Galaxy Force Prime's spark chamber, etc.

The hidden goodies, and tips for figures is great, for the thread, however there already is a Mis-transformed and custom transformations thread here:

I think the movie line, doesn't quite lend itself to this but hey, you never now. Leader Megs could still have a Gun mode or something.

Movie:

Deluxe Brawl cannon: I caught this the other night by accident. If you flip the cannon around, you'll notice it has four gun barrels on the back end of it. This is the arm mounted gun he has in the movie, and on the Leader Class figure.

Only catches are that it puts the cannon behind him, which doesn't give him a lot of clearance. And some people may consider it a cheat.

I did double check though, and it is the arm mounted cannon. Why I never caught it before is beyond me. Does a nice job of not showing the tank cannon anymore. (Well, depending on the angle.)

I noticed that Deluxe Brawl's long barrel actually pops off (without breaking), is there a purpose for that, can it go anywhere or is it just how it's assembled?

There is a purpose for that, and it's assembled that way on purpose. To deter breakage. Believe me, I see how easy it would be to break it, so I'm glad they made it that way.
