Blackout assembled wrong?

After just answering someone about his automorph, I got the figure down and just started looking at it again since I just got it a few hours ago. Then I thought "well that's stupid with all those screw holes being on his waist and upper legs like that, why didn't they put them in the back?". Looked at some pictures in the toys section, and they ARE on the back in those pics. So what the hell, did they put mine's waist on backwards or what???

Um...you're supposed to rotate him at the waist for robot mode. The way you have it now, is for vehicle mode.

I wondered that, so I tried to rotate him, but he doesn't budge. :???:

Just keep trying, I had the same problem with Alt. Wheeljack, didn't think you were able meant to be able to rotate the waist coz it was so tight but someone on here told me you could so I went back and tried it again and it eventually twisted.

After readings the reviews on him I will keep him in copter mode. May just return him in the end and wait and pray that they do a Leader Class version of him.

still reading this thread... keep the inputs coming people. 8) make it easy for us unlucky mortals who have yet to see blackout in our local toy stores. we don't want to shell out hard-earned money for something that's generally defective. thanks guys!

My Blackout’s waist was very hard to twist. It was almost like it was glued into place, but I got it.

I'm pretty sure I broke mine. He was my first experience with auto morph and of course no instruction use. Anyways, that waste was a bugger, just gotta make sure nothing is in its way, and you certainly do have to give it a good firm twist.

hey, sorry to hear that. :(

man, the more i read about blackout's problems, the more i feel afraid of getting him when he comes around here... too bad as he's got a pretty sweet looking alt mode & was just KILLER in the movie... 8)

I admit he look good in bot mode, and look sweet standign on top of my DVD rack, but, he's a pain in the ass to transform. I think I'll keep him in bot mode for a while.

He broke at the waist, so we exchanged him at my gf's Walmart. This one twists fine (little tight, but he actually TWISTS!), but still had the same stupid automorph problem right out of the package and his legs still fall down on this one as well.

I found out he looks good intially, but I'm kind of tired of him already. He's a pain. Lucky for him the gf likes him otherwise he might have just gone back for good.

Heh, mine is a bit finniscky about the Autpmorph, but the waist works fine. Of course, I got the two-pack, so he was boxed in robot mode. I dunno why that would do anyhing to it, but just in case, now you know.

If you really want a Blackout but are worries about the problems with the Voyager, gove the FAB version a shot. Or wait for the Legends version. Sadly, I don't think a bigger one's on the way... We've seen enough post-movie stuff that the Movie line probably has all been anounced already.

My blackout ws in the 2 pack, and his waist was tight as hell. Maybe it has something to with the line he was assembled on?

My Blackout's fine, then again I only Transformed him once. My Blackout came in Robot Mode as the two-pack with Scorponok has him already transformed.

My son's blackout had a problem too in the alt mode. the nose of the copter wouldn't stay down and the rest of the body would lock in place(lose pegs).
I took apart blackout and found that they gears inside the front nose automorph part is aligned wrongly so I corrected it and now its all good. As for the pegs I tightened them with superglue.
