Titanium Menasor not selling?

I'm just wondering why the Titanium Menasor is still in stock on HST compared to the Alt. Rodimus. Is there something horribly wrong with the Menasor figure that I don't know about? I would think people would jump at the chance to get a SDCC exclusive figure at MSRP. I was able to get both the Alt. Rodimus and Titanium Menasor but not so sure about the Menasor now seeing it's not moving....

When did the COMBINER Menasor, not Motomaster, ever have an incarnation in the TF universe that looks like a...
BLACK REPAINT OF RODIMUS PRIME!!! I love the Titanium Rodimus Prime it's a great mold, but not one that should have any repaints. If the needed a re paint of this mold the should have done it in a chrome gold as in the lucky draw Rodimus.

Inappropriate naming of figures seems to be commonplace with Hasbro these days but is that the reason why the Menasor is not selling?

So, you aren't getting it because it's not overhyped?

:-?

The only reason Rodimus sold out, is due to the huge popularity of alts, the liklihood of selling it for a profit on ebay, and the fiasco with Nemesis Prime last year (for the record, I got mine like a pro right when it hit the website).

Menasor, motormaster, Black Rodimus...what ever you'd like to call it; will most assuredly be a cool figure in your collection.

Hell, last I checked Fantastic Four She-Hulk is still available and it's a Marvel Legend exclusive. Go figure.

I don;t think its not selling, i think the repaint is just been out for very little time compared with Rodimus . He's been out for 2 or 3 months. While Menasor has only been out for a week or 2 at most.

They were put up on the website at exactly the same time.

They might have sold more Rodimus's elsewhere and therefore had less of him to list on the site compared to Menasor. I dunno, this is the second real "collectible" TF I've ever bought (I have it along with a 20th ann. Prime coming), and I'm not going to stress over why it's not selling. It's going into a collection and not on eBay. I'm glad I could get it at retail price.

I want to find the original mold for that toy and not the titanium on1. Use there ever a deluxe or voyager size fig to that mold?

No, I did get it to complete my Titanium collection, I even have the often hated Titanium Soundwave.

Alt Rodimus is more popular, but it also has to do with the amount of inventory. HTS only had a little over 800 Rodimus to sell. Menasor on the other hand- they had about 2800. Not only does popularity play a part, but so does inventory in terms of being sold out. Menasor isnt doing bad- there are about 1300 left.

I bought him too.

I feel like he's scaled better for the Classics figures than is ole' G1 Soundwave (Plus, I hated to buy yet another G1 Soundwave...)

Plus, it's supposedly the last Alternator in production, which goes into the eBayability of it.

I don't know, the Alternators Rodimus is just a helluva lot cooler. I really don't regret not getting Menasor because I found a Titanium Rodimus the other day, so meh.

Not surprised. The Titanium 6" line was hit or miss with horrible paint apps and QC issues. Flopping arms legs and overall passable design. This impacted sales which impacted the future of the line. Now it is slowly ending

They look great don't get me wrong but the joints needed improvement on many of them. Opened a couple (OP and Rodimus) and kept the rest MISB. Menasor had the paint apps problem from people are saying. Overall good design. Still say they should have called him 'Decepticon Motormaster' and avoided the trademark issues (from a previous thread).

I just bought him this morning and I'm pretty happy with that decision and being able to get him at retail.

Floppy joins...ok. Yea, floppy joints are what we get for asking for die cast.

But horrible paint apps? Really? I have to say that the paint aps on all of my titanium figures are outstanding. Even in places like Cheetor or Sunstorm where the opportunity for failure was high, these guys look great.

I'm not surprised, it should have been named Dark Rodimus or Black Rodimus, not Menasor. That's the 3rd toy unworthy of the Menasor name that we're getting in a row : Cybertron, Legends and now this.

I agree, besides the fact that recolors are stupid, i would never get a menasor figure that was not a gestalt. Period.

Yah, bad naming scheme for this figure.

Could've been Goth Rodimus, Dark Rodimus or even Black Rodimus, but no it had to Menasor. Tsk. Tsk.

I ordered a Titanium Motormast... I mean Menasor too, although I did not jump at the chance. I don't plan on completing this line but he looks pretty good and I heard the paint apps were top notch.

I think Menasor was a poor name choice although I am open-minded enough to let it go. The problem with naming a new figure after an existing character is that some sort of connection to the old character is implied. This happens a lot with Transformers so I am used to it.

I wish they would have created a new character for this figure and included a mini-comic to introduce him. That would have been an extra nice touch and very fitting considering it is a "Comic-con" exclusive.

I know some folks like him, but he really is just a "dead" Rodimus. A shame, really, I would love to have a Titanium Rodimus. Great mold.

If he's still up when the old credit card kicks over to a new month, I'll probably buy one. I've already spend a lot this month, and if I don't get him, I won't be broken-hearted. I completely passed on Alt. Hot Rod, just not that interesting to me.

Rodimus sold better because he wasn't just a repaint. Hasbro actually used the Kiss Play mold to make him, so he actually is retolled with a new head that, not only looks more like Hot Rod, but has a visor you can move up and down. How cool is that? I can't wait to get my 2 in the mail.

I picked up a Titanium Rodimus for my newborn daughter as I was mightily impressed, unfortunately I can't say the same for another cop-out repaint with a bad name choice.

Next up for Josie? F.A.B. Frenzy. That character is so like her...

:-P

I've been seeing these at TRUs lately; the other day I saw one on the shelf, bought it, and the next day there was another one out on the shelf too.
