Picked up a few Alternators/BT ...

After searching youtube a few months ago for transformers movie previews ... I came across something called "on the prowl."

I'm sure everybody in here has seen the video.

I was floored by the quality of the transformers toys in there, not knowing that there were some really cool ones out there.

After lurking here for a few weeks I discovered exactly what line they were from and the rest is well ... history!

First to arrive was B/T Grimlock. WHOA! His arms are a biatch, but man does he have some serious poseability.

Sunstreaker alternator was next. Meh, he's okay. Alt mode lines don't really want to line up too well, but still cool looking in robot mode.

Meister (Jazz) Alt. WHOA! My favorite transformation so far. I really dig how the seats, floor become his torso. I may order the G1 decals for him. That would just rule!

I ordered Ravage XK8, but received Battle Ravage instead. Doh! I have not opened him yet because I have BT Tracks en route. They look like pretty much the same figure.

Optimus Prime is on the way, but I will not open him. He will stay MISB. IMHO he does not look all that great in bot mode.

Ricochet, I picked him up for $10 bucks ... but he has not arrived yet either.

I would like Hound in B/T to keep MISB, and maybe Alt. swindle/rollbar to play with. Prowl looks great as well, but prowl and hound look to be quite expensive so I may pass on them.

What a great addiction this has turned out to be! This has been a helpful way to pass the time while the shelves at Target and Wally World continue to be empty of movie figures.

I thank everyone on here for the information that I needed to help my collection along.

I'm picking up the recent Rodimus Prime from the post office this afternoon. I may not open him either, we'll see. It's going to be tough to fight the urge once I'm staring at the package.

word!! i really wanna get a grimlock

but just last nite in wal-mart i spotted rumble and ravage (jaguar XK) alternators so i picked them up

after reading reviews of other alternators i was expecting them to be really difficult to transform but to my surprise they weren't tough at all. maybe it's just certain alternators that are really difficult to transform

ravage is pretty badass and i really like rumble's head mold (wish it had light piping), cassette chest and pile driver arms

I really like Meister/Jazz but my favorite is Traxx. Great and fairly accurate bot mode, and he's a Corvette just like the original. :D

Welcome to the boards, and to one of the best lines in the transformers universe.

I love the Alts/BT's. It is said that to show support for a line, voice your opinion on forums and at conventions. Also vote with your dollar, which is what I try to do.

I love the Alts/BT so much, and wanted to show Hasbro my support, that I have bought 2 of every Alt to display one in bot mode and one in car, as well as one of every BT to keep MISB.

Oh, and don't miss out on the goodness that is Mirage as well.

If I open Rodimus, I'll surely buy Mirage to keep MISB. There's no sense for me to have 2 of the same mold out of the box. If mirage ends up being my Ford GT toyformer, he'll surely get G1 decals.

I was looking for him first believe it or not, but there don't seem to be any under/around $50. Once I get over that ... I'll have to shell out at least $80, most likely.

I never had G1 Mirage when I was a kid, but I did see some of the "rich kids" playing around with him at school. So ... now that I make decent money, one can only imagine how I feel about owning him right this VERY second. I'll always feel unworthy until I have at least him.

It's nice being all grown up in a toy store, but only when I'm shopping for myself.

I just picked up BT Grimlock as well and you're right, he is very posable (even if his transformation is a bit of a pita). I should be getting Alt Rodimus and Mirage next week and am still hunting down a Blue BT Tracks. I'd still like to snag BT Wheeljack, Prowl, Sunstreaker and Broadblast.

Nice pick ups man, and I highly recommend the reprolabels for Jazz.

Ahh, today Rodimus arrived. I may open him due to reasons of box damage. The figure looks untouched, thank GOD!

Prime Alt. And Tracks BT also arrived.

I just know I'll end up with 2 of each in the long run, may as well open prime too ...

Thanks for the kind words guys, and these are truly the most amazing transformers EVER!!!

You know what I'll be doing for the next few hours.

I highly recommend the alt/bt line.

It is one of a few lines that are really worth paying extra to complete.

I've got 7 to go! Pricey, but so worth it!

Some are harder than others yes, Grimlock and Mirage can be tricky at first. But I think the Majority of the complaining comes from those who quit too early. Welcome to the upper crust of the Tranformers collecting. Unfortunately you hopped on the train just as it came to a stop.

TWO of each?
Wow *envies*.
I'm still starting my collection, got skids and richochet the other day.

Anyone happen to have extras? Would love to expand my collection. :)

Tracks, I think Traxx is a different line... :P

Alternators and BT rule, and I am proud to say I am an owner of the whole, stinkin' set of both (1 set Alternators MISB!). That's a bit difficult as some of you know.

And if you are interested you may want to take a look at CLEAR MIRAGE from Ehobby. He will be released in a month or two.

Wow that's pretty impressive! I'll have the whole BT lineup pretty soon but there is no way I could leave them in the boxes and no way I could afford two sets :D

I never could bring myself to buy BT Black Convoy, but yeah, I've got everything up to him. Tigertracks I envy you if you did buy him.

Now I do have two sets of Alts too. For similar display purposes. I just haven't gotten around to Properly Displaying them. Still like lanzajr26 was saying, I have a hard time leaving them MISB even if it's a second of a figure. For some reason, I feel compelled to transform them at least once.

My BTs are actually all open, except the Nemesis Optimus Prime exclusive that was like $260. It's staying sealed.

However, my alts are all MISB, so they are a little cheaper to have that way, and I have some Alts open along with my BTs too, but there are more of the Alts to keep that way.

I bought it purely out of completist notions. One of the reasons I am no longer a completist.

BT and Alt will probably always be my hang up for needing to be completist though, they are just so cool.

Well, I can certainly understand that, I fought the urge to buy him off of ebay everytime he popped up. But considering I bought a complete set up BTs up through Ravage for the same price... Well...

I still have my vices in the Alt/BT series though; if I buy a set of Reprolabels to customize a figure, such as Jazz, I feel a need to buy another figure to keep in stock factory conditions.

Maybe its just an excuse to buy another figure but since I only collect alts for a complete series, I can handle the cost. Though I may have to pick up another Movie Leader Prime.

Still though, you lucky bum, I bet Black Convoy is great if not wobbly on his ball/socket feet.

Wouldn't know, he is held firmly in the bubble in truck mode. I have the alternator version open (and MISB).

I'm keeping him all sealed up for a rainy day. :-?

See, I could never own something for a rainy days sake. If I own something, I want to own it forever. Still, should your rainy day ever come around, remember this guy right here. I'll haggle you worse than an old man at a yard sale.

Alternators are easily worth the extra $$$, just finding them is the hard part. The majority of the line was unavailable in Australia, so I have only a few figures.

Glad you like Jazz, he is probably the best non Mustang Alternator there is. Silverstreak is also pretty nice, but he and Hound (another favourite) have possibly the easiest Transformations of the line.

Dead End is worth a Buy too, even if he is only a Black Sunstreaker. Prime is a slight disappointment in comparison to the other figures in the line, but is still a fairly good figure. (should have been Ironhide or Trailbreaker though)

I bought Rumble today. I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep him or not but I couldn't resist when I saw him there all buy himself on the shelf at Walmart. I figured I would probably never get a chance to get him for this cheap again so I grabbed him. Having the Ravage and Rumble pair is nice though.

I've got Rodimus and Sunstreaker on the way too. Not sure if I'll buy anymore Alternators though. They're definately cool but I'm not sure I can justify spending that much money on them. Yet.
