Why is there a yellow BT Tracks?

I'm sure there is an easy answer to this one, but I never understood why they made the first BT Tracks yellow. Was he yellow in a previous Japanese release or something? Just blows me away that the blue version is so much harder to find when that's what our G1 looked like and there are yellow ones rotting on eBay.

Because at first they said that the Blue Plastic wouldn't look good, and they went with yellow, then Hasbro caved in and went with blue.

The story I know is that Chevy wanted the Signature yellow Corvette for the figure and Japan intitially bowed to their will. Later releasing a blue figure was to please the fans.

Hasbro made up a story of the yellow plastic not being strong enough or the right color or something equally convincing for Chevy and got to release their Tracks in blue. Later releases of Decepticharge and Sunstreaker most likely left Chevy shaking a "Oh you fooled us good, Hasbro..." finger at the Toy Company.

As for the figures being harder to find... Well... I think you answered your own question. People want the figure they easily recognize not the yellow one.

Ah I think I remember hearing about that signature yellow Vette thing years ago, thanks for the reminder. I suppose this explains why there was a white and red Meister released at the same time, since red RX-8's were Mazda's signature.

Now if only I could find a reliable seller with a blue Tracks for under $100...

I like yellow Tracks, but I also like my blue one as well.

Wasn't blue Alt Tracks a shelf warmer for awhile (fish bowl package). If you wanted a Tracks you might try for that instead of BT.

The REAL reason for giving us a yellow 'vette was so that I could swap the head with Deadend and make a kick ass Sunstreaker.

You missed mine. It was up for about 3 months on Carbombya, was asking 50 shipped to the U.S. No one asked, so I eBayed it about a month ago. Got 52 plus shipping.

Sorry.

No worries, I was late to game getting this one anyway. I've found a few online for $70 or so but I'm unsure if they are reliable sellers or not.
