Blackout gets no respect

Blackout was probably my favorite decepticon in the movie, and he had a pretty huge role as well. I've touted many times how he is soundwave, and he definitly proved that in the movie. I'll always remember his great opening scene at the beginning. So how did they screw up his toy so bad?
I'm sorry but this toy just sucks. plain and simple. Of all the movie toys i own he is my least favorite. The mold is so cheap it feels like its going to break in your hands, the defect with the spring in had piece, the simple boring transformation, the in ability to completly retract his blades, and the fact the blades keep popping off... not to mention the fact the blades are made out of the cheapest possible plastic on earth. in the movie he's the second largest transformer next to Megatron, but the toy is so small it could easily be sold as a deluxe!
He needs to get the respect he deserves. They need to make a leader class blackout, and I mean a blackout so big that he can carry deluxe scorponok!
Hasbro always aggravates me with toylines...would it be so hard to make the toys directly proportional to eachother? What I'm saying is in vehicle mode you shouldn't have a pontiac solstice thats almost the same size as a F22 raptor, that F22 Raptor better dwarf the Solstice!

Do you realize that possibly would cost as much as the Ultimate Bumblebee?
I kind of like him the way he is now

If you ever petition for a Supreme Class Blackout, I will support you.

Unicron only cost $50 and thats probably about the size blackout would have to be. I'd be glad to petition for a supreme class blackout figure!

Blackout was my first official movie fig (after ProtoPrime) and at the time, I thought he was friggin' awesome. Then I got some of the other movie figs and my opinion dropped.
He feels way too fragile when transforming him. I'm always afraid I'll break him in half. And the automorph gimmick is just stupid. But my biggest gripe with him has got to be his hands. Why, oh why, did they make them grayish-white?
A Leader Blackout would rock, plain and simple. However, finding the cash for one would not...

Overall bad decision making regarding the class of the toys as they were released. Blackout should have been leader class. If Brawl can be made into that class I do not see why Blackout could not be.

Movie line = worst made TFs ever (except for Robot Masters)
I'm not saying they aren't cool and I'm not saying they aren't good Transformers, but design, engineering, and materials wise...they are very bad.

They should have made a leader class blackout instead of brawl, but that's as far as I'll go. It's unreasonable to think a toy company will make a bunch of expensive leader class figs that the general CHILD won't be aloud to buy.

I was so disappointed about Blackout from you all that I went and returned the 2-pack Blackout and Scorponok to TRU. Instead, I got myself an Ironhide.

Thanks for being frank about these toys. You stopped me from opening Blackout!

I don't own Blackout and I don't plan too unless another larger version is released. I haven't even seen that many, but from everyone's opinions it seems that him and Starscream are battling it out for the worst of the movie line.
The sad fact is that I just might buy Starscream just to have a Starscream. He is a very hard to find TF in other lines.

Nothing wrong with the Blackout toy we got, he is in the best size class for his character.
You dont want to flood the market with too many higher end figures, the Leaders of both factions are usually more than enough for the Leader line, with 1 more added in. This line it is Brawl, who does play a large (for a Decepticon) part in the film, he also takes a lot of punishment, so I can see why Hasbro chose him to Leader-fy rather than Blackout (but dont get me wrong, I personally think Blackout deserved the leader toy just from his efforts in the film over Brawl)
Brawl is a figure that has an easier transformation than Blackout. Voyager Blackout has arguably the most complex transformation of any movie figure, and could you imagine that in a leader class, where there would be more room for more complexity? It would be great for the collectors, but pretty damn awful for the kiddies.
And the collectors only make up a very small percentage of the market, so guess who Hasbro is going to cater for?
In saying all of that though, I think Leader Brawls will clog shelves (like Cybertron Metroplex did) whereas a Leader Blackout would have sold fairly well.

I will probably get Leader Brawl, but I wouldv'e much rather gotten a Leader or Supreme Class Blackout.
If Blackout was going to keep the backpack he should be supreme.
If Blackout had to be Leader, his backpack should be done away with and converted to a mobile assault platform or something.
