Well, there goes the value of my 2001 Takara Reissues

Man every time I see Megatron, Prime and Soundwave I think "is there anything more beautifull?"

These people sure know how to cash in on a movie.

Doubt it. Anything G1 rarely losses value including G1. If anything all G1 stuff is going up higher currently.

I already have TFC Soundwave, but it doesn't hurt to have another. I just wish Takara would've given Starscream the anime look they gave him for the TFC series. I could just get an Encore box & put my Hasbro re-issue Starscream in there & call it Encore Starscream. I'll just go hunting for TFC Starscream. As for Prime & Megs, if they don't come w/their respecitive energon weapons, I won't bother.

The accessories on the OP though make it worth getting. Grey roller, missles and the bloated gun. Add to this that that autobot symbols are moulded to his shoulders instead of being stickers.

I want Megatron and Soundwave. I just hope they dont cost as much as the last re-issues. Im not paying $90 for Megatron or soundwave.

Hallelujah for another Soundwave reissue - and Prime as well.

I'd love to have all 4 but I'm just not sure my wallet can handle the prices and the shipping costs. This sucks.

cool. i still love the fact that you can get ex microman/diaclone toys from the 80's with boxes that still have the original microman/diaclone artwork and style(i only think optimus used new artwork unless a later incarnation of diaclone convoy used the TF type artwork).

The market says something quite contrary to your statement.

These are great, but I wish they'd do some other characters already.

I think they need to talk to you on ebay where they charge $60 for the reissue Soundwave that came out last year. Even reissues go up in value.

Supply and demand.

Regardless of whether they're reissues or originals, if the buyers want them the price will go up, especially if they're harder to get.

A couple of weeks ago I sold an original G1 Prime cab on E-Bay. I'd restored it so the paint wasn't original, the chrome was repainted, the fists were broken, and he had no other accessories.

$50AU. A year ago before the movie I would have been lucky to get $20AU.

I watched another auction, Prime and trailer. Trailer was broken and he had no accessories at all. Went for over $170AU.

So the market is big right now, these reissues are coming out at a perfect time to cash in on the hype. Only one i'd be interested in is Starscream and possibly Soundwave just so I have them in semi-original packaging.

i'm about to preorder these from digital toys. i've never ordered from them so would u guys recommend them or not? if not, where would you recommend i get them from? thx.

not exactly. G1 megatrons should be held to the same toy gun laws...especially newly released reissues.

However, that doesnt mean you can't order one from overseas. I heard of very few having issues ordering mp megs or tfc megs unmodified from outside the us.

Then there is always the option of ordering from bbts which will place an orange plug on the barrel. The plug was easily removed from mp megs, and more than likely will be similar with the encore series. However, i personally would rather take my chances with an import company.

On a different note...i still wish that soundwave would have come with frenzy or rumble instead.
