Games of Deception

Sorry if this was discussed earlier. The search feature for the boards keeps returning zero hits for Games of Deception no matter what parameters I use.

Anyway, what did this set cost at Botcon?

Since I haven't been collecting since I was young (15+ years), am I correct in understanding that the figures in this boxed set will not be released any other way?

Anyone know how many box sets were made?

I would love to have a Classics Thundercracker, Dirge, and Thrust, but there's no way I can afford $100+ each.

Sure wish I had grabbed the retail Classics figures when I first saw them last year...the more I thought about it, the more I realized I really wanted these...and then it was too late. I was able to eventually play catch up and hunt down everything but Megs and Starscream and not so classic Devastator which was never carried in my Wal-Mart.

For the record, I'm still searching for a Classics Starscream and got hosed on my Megatron (store never shipped, then removed it from their website after I ordered).

I have two Ramjets, an Arcee (movie deluxe class), and a few Alternators I could trade for Megs/Starscream.

Had to edit post for continuity...couldn't manage to type a clear statement with the baby in my lap the first time around....

Yes, they are sold as a set, and I believe they sold out. so they only way to get them is after market like ebay.

FYI - Many people voiced their displeasure when it was announced that these fan-favorite figures would be super-expensive convention exclusives. You are not the only one who missed out. I think they sold for $320 when announced and quickly sold out. Now you can expect to spend over $100 each for them on ebay.

At this point you'd be lucky to get Thundercracker for less than $250, Thrust is pushing $200 and Dirge around $175

I believe there were 900 boxed sets made + 500 loose sets.

Wow!!

Aren't I glad I bit the bullet and got the convention set. Yeah, having ALL of the seekers is awsome. But if you're patient and diligent you can get all of the classics released thru ebay eventually. And each figure shouldn't cost that much more than the retail price the seller paid for it.

also note that the convention set and the movie are hot right now so interest is high, prices do vary on the botcon stuff so sit tight and keep an eye out.

Games of Deception, 1000 boxed, 250 loose,
'Invisable' Mirage, unconfirmed, best guess around 1000,
A3/Weirdwolf, 1400,
Huffer/Springer, 1400,
Vector Sigma, 1500.
