So I was bored today and finally decided, with the help of my blue sharpie, to finally give my Classics Ultra magnus a new face paint job. I did this mostly because I was kinda pissed at how on the picture on the back of the box he came in, UM has a cool looking blue face plate and blue Crest thing. Now with his new coat of sharpie ink, he more closely resembles the picture on the box. So without further ado, here he is, please tell me what you think:

Just took this picture, think it shows the just how big an impact the new face paint has on the whole figure:

No offence brother but that looks pretty bad - the blue mouth plate only works if it's got red eyes(like the original G1).

On another note, that mold looks so much better in white as a naked Magnus than in red as Optimus Prime.

Ya I know its pretty bad, but hey I was just using a sharpie. Besides I still have some work to do on him Cool as they are, I wouldnt even attempt and try to give him red eyes, I know Id mess it up somehow, unless you could tell me of an easy way to do it...

Why not just paint over the blue light pipe eyes with white paint and then over that with red :-?

The best way to do it is to use Tamiya Color X-27 Clear red acrylic paint. It's a colored clear coat and, when applied to the blue light piping piece, will give you a deep crimson color to the optics when light shines through them. I did it with my Magnus. You have to paint the entire piece though, not just the eyes, with two coats to get the best effect. If you go to the kitbash forum, to the Who's got Kitbashed Classics thread, you will see mine. Wehn you do it, remember to remove the light piping piece first and paint the entire thing, and give it two coats.
