Went to Target today...

yes, another thread about Target. I went to one today, and they PISSED ME OFF!!!

They had finished doing their reset. All the other lines were filled to the brim with stuff. All Except Transformers. I asked the guy working there what was up with that. He said "We got a few in, and we put them up. They all sold, man. Sorry". I don't buy it. I was there twice yesterday (it's close to my work, I can walk there). Nothing. I was there once before this morning. He LIED! :-x Then he says they do not plan on getting any more. That's it. Nothing. Nada. :-x :-x :-x

Let me tell you, I can take a lot of crap, but I don't take to well with liars. Basically, I told him to *&^% off.

Because the stockboy at target knows what Corp. HQ has planned? :???:

With the current eBay market being so nuts, I wouldn't rule out someone buying all their stock and trying to turn it for profit.

Part of me has suspected that for awhile given the lack of new shipments regaridng TFs. My Wal mart, TRU, and Target haven't gotten squat lately.

And Sport: A Stock boy = Bottom of the Chain. He knows nothing aside what he's told to do.

call his bluff. If he tries to dance around it, report it. I've made it known I'm a prick when it comes to poor customer service. I run a customer service department and it's top notch and to the letter. If you report crappy service, it's not a bad thing and the person won't get fired. If anything it's light a fire under his arse and maybe won't be such a lazy bag of douche later.

Oh whoops, sorry, I'm on the wrong side, apparently.

he didn't answer the question. He lied to the customer. That's a no no in any retail outlet.

post this in the target refresh thread.. there's no need for this..
follow the damned guidelines and quite acting like such a noob with this restock/08 bb madness.
it's quite ridiculous.
it's not a scam.
there's no hidden agenda at hasbro.
they aren't out of toys.
it takes a while to get from hasbro, to various wharehouses to stores.
now take a big boy pill and shut up.

How did he lie? With the demand of TFs being so damned high, and considering how retail stores are really only getting in a couple boxes at a time, I totally believe him when he says they were all sold in the time that they were stocked and when Sportimus showed up.

Believe it or not, but I still give retail employees the benefit of the doubt, especially when it comes to a toy that can be sold out in a matter of minutes.

You don't have proof that he lied, do you? I don't really think its uncommon to see empty shelves of transformers wherever you go.

Ive been to two Targets in my area, about a week after the movie came out. They where stocked full of everything, I really wish i bought something then. Now, about a month later, theres nothing.

But still, was this like, a few days after the restock? Transformers have been selling out faster then normal because of the movie. He might have been lieing or not, but, dont make assumptions please.

I went to target the other day during and had the same ordeal. I actually believed him since I saw booster and protoform starscream which I haven't seen before. My guess is that they are selling out real fast (probably minutes) as most of the figures are going double than what was paid for them.

I've also met a few collectors in my area in the mornings so I'm not surprised if that is the case.

As for the target employees, most of them don't know crap, as they really don't know when the shipments are coming (trucks come every day), and they are moved around alot to restock other stuff; there is no person working just toys.

Over the course of a week, I've talked to about 6-7 different people in the morning or at lunch that have been restocking toys. Running out of excuses to go to target lol.

They can be really nice if you are nice. I've had a few of them go back to the room to check, open boxes they had just got, and one even use that portable stocking thing to check individually each deluxe tag peg to see if they had any in stock.

I've had alot of crap at tru though as the people there really don't know crap... but I'll keep that nonsense to myself.

It'd be nice if hasbro offered the toys at their site and just cut out the middleman though.

Why does everyone insist on taking it out on the retail people? They come to work, do the jobs that's assigned to them, and don't need to be hassled. They are not your personal Transformer delivery service and they have lives too, with their own problems and thoughts on their minds. Stop being rude to them. If the store had transformers that they could sell you, they would. So either they have none, or they are like my gf's walmart and sitting in the back with a "Do Not Sell Until" certain date on it. And yes, that means they will not sell them, will not open the boxes to let you have a look, and don't want hassled about it.

It is a $10 an hour job. Most of them do not care that much, especially when a bunch of 30+ year olds are pestering them about a toy. Give em a break. Also when you do ask them, remember, there are 50-100 thousand items in the store, and most of the people do not know about every item or if something is rare (yes they can probably look in a computer, but most don't know about every item in a store, they usually have a focus). Also, having worked at Target and Home Depot, even when it is in the computer, does not mean that it is going to arrive on that date. I was at Home Depot when the port strike was going on, and there were empty shelves. There are always problems that can delay things where the lead time isn't exact on the item. Just be nice to these people, they are there to help, but do not need to be pestered by a bunch of fan-boys who cannot wait for the flood to happen. With retail, I have learned that the kinder you are, (generally) the more help you will get. 98% of these people are there to help you, and will find the information that you want. I find it frustrating that I am spending more money on gas than I would have spent to buy it on ebay, but it is part of the game. Calling the liars or throwing a fit is not going to help anyone shopping.

I've been to about a half-dozen or more Targets and Walmarts in the past few days, and all of them are the same story.

Empty shelves.

I've seen a bit of the roleplaying toys, and some realgear two-packs once, but I haven't seen a deluxe figure (new or old) in over a week.

You probably didn't see it since it was bumped down by yet another "waaah my store has no transformers thread"

I've worked at Wal-mart before, I know they can run out of stock. But for an employee to out and out tell a customer they won't be getting any more is just poor people skills. It reflects poorly on not only the company but that particular store in general. I have had the same experience with the Wal-mart in Ajax and I've not set foot in it since because of being treated like an idiot by someone who can barely hang on to their grade nine.

Sorry, maybe you misunderstood me. When I go into a store, and I ask for help I am 98% of the time greeted by a polite and helpful staff member. I myself, know better then to ask if they have something in the back because I know it will eventually have it's moment in the spotlight as were. The last time I remember having to ask an associate to look in the back was a few years back during Energon and Christmas time. I'm also aware that employees may not know exactly what it is a Transformers fan may be looking for. Anyways, I wouldn't call an employee a liar just because they are out of stock, I'm fine with that. But like I pointed out in another post, it's when they just tell you that "we aren't getting any more, sorry" that's when I know they are fibbing, for what ever reason.
