I was under the impression that so many preorders had occured that we would not see Soundwave at the store at all. Obviously my info was wrong. The TRU by my house just got 4 yesterday. They are $29.99. What's the deal?

yup, I bought three at my TRU about a week or two ago.
I didn't like the 30 pricepoint, and look at MP Prime at TRU he was 90 bucks. Though I never had a G1 soundwave, and now I do.

Did anyone notice that he came with a sticker sheet for Soundblaster? Why did he come with that? Also I read everywhere that he is not exactly G1 same. He is a blue saoundblaster???

Correct, he is a blue Soundblaster.

The Toys R Us in Okemos, MI had one 20th Optimus Prime re-issue left, it was an opened returned item (the accessories and figure were inside the box but it was just sitting in the box, no plastic to keep him or the accessories in place) and they wanted $90 for it. They said they couldn't discount it because it was "complete".

I left it, WalMart has them for $50. I was just hoping I could snag it for my office at like $20 or so.

well, I won't have any money until Wed, so I put one up in the top section. Maybe the TRU guys won't find it and put it back on the shelf. I was at TRU for maybe 40 min with my son and by the time I left there were only 3 soundwaves. They also have 2 Titanium 6in soundwaves for 15 bucks.

hey Rodimus would you mind snaggin me one of them TIT soundwaves? I will gladly send you the dough for them.

As for the TRU reissue soundwave...How is it the old reissus like jazz and all were 20 but soundwave, same size class is 30? Well next month when he is a shelf warmer I may buy another 3 when he gets discounted.

Soundwave is probably more due to what you get: namely Laserbeak and Ravage. Plus, I'm not sure I'd agree with him being in the same category as Jazz. I have a Jazz reissue and Soundwave is definitely a good deal bigger than Jazz.

Not to mention, fan demand for Soundwave is high, which TRU uses to jack up the price.

I just picked mine up today. Looks great, I like him. Happy to have a Soundwave after not having one as a kid, but the price did make me cringe.

What does the Takara/Hasbro date stamp read? I remember looking at one of the other reissues and seeing the 1984 stamp, not a new 2000 something date. I think it may have been Prime, or his trailer. Anyway I think Soundwave looks great, and a 2 tape deep chest/player, Ravage and Laserbeak. I think the $30 bucks is alot more reasonable than it could have been like $89.99 for 20th DVD Prime (without DVD). :???: Or the $50 something people are paying on EBAY for Soundwave.

I tell you what though, the prices of the Titanium Dicast 6 inch figures was a nice shock when I first encountered them. I never thought that a part metal tformer 20 years after the firsts would be so cheap. $14.99 what a deal!
I was also one of the lucky ones to stumble into Target with $40 bucks when they had switched the prices on the 6 inch and 3 inch Titaniums. I got WW Prime and 2 Megatrons for $5 bucks each and Alt Mirage the same day. One of my nephews lucked out with his $5 dollar birthday gift last year and got Tit Megatron. Anyway... it's late and I'm rambling. Later.

The other thing I noticed was that the G1 original version came with headphones, and not the cassette jewel cases. And the reissue is Vice-versa. I'd rather of had the headphones, since the tape deck holds 2 cassettes. Though I have pre-ordered the MP3 players, that will be cool to walk around with a soundwave and headphones that actually work.

Washington state will be lucky if we get any at all and if we do it will be about the time the movie comes out.

Edit: it's the japanese version that got headphones. oops

No new stamps on the back of the Soundwave.

It is worth the $30 if you can pick it up from TRU. Much better than getting it elsewhere for an inflated price.

The only flaw with Soundwave is that Hasbro didn't throw in Rumble and Frenzy. I mean they gave him Laserbeak and Ravage.

here's another soundwave question. Is takara making any more cassetes for Titanium Soundwave?

In most situations TRU exclusives are not discounted over time.

BTW picked up a DVD Prime for $25 in Hudson, NH :-P

Takara has zero involvement with the Titanium line. It's all Hasbro.

Hasbro's going to release a Titanium Soundblaster later this year, probably a straight repaint of Soundwave, but it will also come with a new-mold Ravage tape instead of Laserbeak.

I picked up a Grapple for $11 and a Ricochet for $7. Of course there was about 30 ricochets for over $30 for a long, long time. Then about 15 ricochets were clearanced, I only bought one though.
