Galaxy Force/Cybertron Optimus Prime, potential Problem???

I was amazed when I first recieved my Galxay Force optimus Prime!! his transformation and design are simply one of the best I have ever encountered..

I do however, have one major concern....

Like the 1980s toys of Gi Joe, there was an O-ring, which was made out of Rubber..that held the legs to the toys pelvis... over time, and if any of you have an orginial Joe in Package, you may have noticed they are in pieces because the rubber band of the O-ring degraded and fell apart..

on the giant legs that transform and flip around on Prime's legs, they have a rubberband feeling to them.. is there a possibility there is a rubber thing that causes that plausability?? i couldn't really tell if that was the case or not...

If there is a rubber O-ring type devise in that leg, would it be too terrible to assume that degredation over time could occur..resulting in Broken feet syndrome for Galaxy Optimus Prime??

To the best of my knowledge after taking apart his waste area, there is no form of rubber or O-ring in there whatsoever.

In fact, I don't think there's been a rubber band on a Transformer since G2

I'm pretty sure it's a spring in there, not a rubber band.

It could be a spring.,.. its not in his waiste per say, but rather in his foot area...where the foot extension comes on the existing foot..

I know what you are talking about; his calf/back of the leg that flips around to become the feet in supermode. I haven't taken it apart since I like my figures intact but I am pretty sure that it doesn't use a rubber O-ring. It either uses plastic as tension against some internal plastic parts, a spring or both. I wouldn't worry too much about it; just be careful when transforming those parts (don't yank or use excessive force).

I'd forgotten all about rubber rings in toys.

I doubt Takara Tomy/Hasbro would still be using rubber rings in their toys, if not only because of how quickly they deteriorate, but I also have a feeling that they would be a choking hazard, and thus not pass US toy safety standards.
