I first remember reading a thread like this about 6months ago, however the search function was kind enough to not work for me.

perhaps the original was lost in the board purge, perhaps not.

Irregardless of that threads location, this is now your oppurtunity to tell others what figure has managed to elude you.

I'm sure this will provoke a great deal of concept camaro response...and if that is truely the figure that has eluded you the longest then feel free to say so.


For me it has been a mint G1 shockwave. Since i restarted my collection, hell since my childhood, i have wanted this figure...yet an adequate specimen has yet to come into my hands. It started as a desire to have one mib, this to a degree is no longer the case. However the fact that the figure must be mint has made it quite elusive for me.

so now i ask, with slight trepidation, "whats your grail?".

A MIB, never opened G1 Jazz...must have! I wanted that to be my first G1 when I started collecting, now I almost want it to be my last. Just found a G1 Prowl this week.

first of all i do want to say 08 BB, but also classics star scream, and mirage.

Easy, Masterforce Black Zarak. Due to the GPS on this figure I don't want to risk buying it online and not being able to give it a look over before parting with a serious wedge of cash making tracking one down (especially at one of those rare points where my finances are actually in good enough shape...) particularly difficult. Space Bridge had one complete and boxed at Auto Assembley last year but I'd only been able to budget myself £300 spends. One day.

I'm itching to get a Leader Brawl. I wonder when will be the official release date.

A little clarification for those who may be new.

Once you own it, it is no longer a grail. A grail needs to be more than elusive. It is something that you have been trying to get for ages, but somehow, always lose out on.

It also can't be something that does not exist.

Ah .. the golden lagoon prime is the ultimate grail then..

I've been keeping watch on this Leader Brawl for a month now.

Does this count for "ages"?

God Ginrai... aww I want that guy so bad, could have got the reissue but I waited for some reason and it was gone the next day and I've not found an online store since that stocks the God Ginrai reissue since.

Also a G1 MISB Shockwave or Scorpinok, why can't Takara just find the person who owns the rights the G1 Shockwave toy, buy'em and reissue that bad boy? More people want a reissue Shockwave than any other character.

Fingers crossed for a reissue Scorpinok too, Encore Series christmas release maybe..?

I heard some rumors of a Black Zarak Reissue. You might possibly be in luck.

Ah true that. That is almost beyond grail status though. I think that is like Ultimate Grail. What do you buy when you own every other TF? Golden Lagoon Prime.

Yes, GIVE IT!

Blaster still factory sealed with the packaging in awesome condition. I doubt one even exists any more. Granted though, my searching is limited to Carbombya and going to my TRU and screaming why they haven't restocked figures they've been out of for 20 years.

Also, a perfect, working and complete Trypticon.

G1 Sunstreaker for me,
Doesn't have to be complete or MISB, just needs to have the chrome still on it and enough accesories for it display OK

S'posed to be a KO coming out soon which will suit me fine

Until a couple of days ago it was movie Bonecrusher, but I got him
So now it's back to my original grail, a G1 original Megatron, possibly MIB, just as long as it can transform & looks good enough for display. Preferably at a reasonable price.

THE grail for me was a g1 soundwave. i absolutly loved him in the show and got a look at the toy and i wanted him ever since i was a kid. fortunatly for me i found the classics reissue a few months ago and he is siting in front of me now. lazerbeak and ravage both tucked away in his cassette deck. i know this is just soundblaster only in soundwaves colours but it's the closest think i'll ever get and now that i have him i have no need for the origanal, this one is better i think.

by the way, starscream is my favourite character but soundwaves a close second.
