Satisfaction refurbishing G1 toys

I just finished making some minor repairs to my G1 Thundercracker. His body was no longer tight and I was able to fix it, and now he feels brand new. He now means a little more to me than the rest of my seekers. I've fixed up a couple of other G1 toys, and afterwards I found that they became some of my favorites as well.

Case in point, I bought a Megatron that was incomplete and a little loose. So I took him completely apart, cleaned him up as best as I could, and tightened him up. I was also able to track down his missing pieces. His chrome still isn't the best but I can't really do anything about that. I still need to get reprolabels for him, as well as a couple of others. But since I fixed him myself he rises above a lot of the others in my collection.

Has anyone else fixed up their old toys, or even their newer ones, and felt the same way as me?

I'm trying to work into that part of the collecting aspect. I have a G1 Guard City Hot Spot that I am refurbishing using pieces from a G1 version in better condition (for those pieces that translate color wise anyway). I am also using the accesories from a G1 release for him as well.

So not to your degree, but there is most definitely satisfaction in taking an older figure in disrepair, and fixing it up to a much higher level of completeness, cleanliness, and quality.

I've removed stickers, dissambled and cleaned completely and applied Reprolabels to my childhood Devestator. He looks damn near perfect. I've done the same minus Reprolabels for Abominus, The Autobot and Decepticon clones, Metroplex, PMOP, Monster Pretender Wildfly, some Action Masters and some Micromasters.
It certainly makes me feel proud when a piece gets finished.

I think I have spent around $300 on Reprolabels in the past year.

Yeah, I like to fix them up.

Ah yes, cleaning the complete G1 Vroom that I bought at Botcon was immensely satisfying. He's now beautiful and good as new.

Same thing with the Sky Lynx that I got this year, he got the toothbrush treatment, and now stands proudly, clean as a whistle and with working electronics.
