If classics 2.0 is really the new universe line.

I have to say that this kind of scares me after how well the last universe line turned out. It ended up being sold in places like big lots and few universe micro vehicle sets were sold at places like kaybee toys on-line. I really hope for all our sakes that hasbro thinks this out a little better ahead of time and just sticks with classics molds and doesn't try to fill this line up with repaints from other lines with possible exception of the titianium protypes we have seen made into classic figures. Because the titianium prototype of cosmo was really cool he would have been the one titianium I would have gotten no question asked.

This is true, the Universe moniker does have a stigma attached.

Though I dont believe Hasbro misled anyone about the fact that the original universe line was just for repaints and reissues.

Universe 2.0 seems totally different.

I cant speak too poorly about the original universe line though, because some of those repaints were GREAT!

Ultra Magnus (repaint of Armada Prime) is a favourite of mine. Though you did have to buy Treadshot to get him MISB so there was a little bit of crap in that deal.

I don't care. I'm just super-stoked that Classics is back period. :D

Totally! I'm especially looking forward to Sunstreaker (at long last!) and Sideswipe. They look kickass!

I'll need more shelf space for the Classics, which, for the most part, are more than deserving of the monicker!

Transformers: Universe IS the name of the line. It will contain some "Classics 2.0" and other toys which are not Classics.

Hasbro stated at Botcon that the 2008 Universe line would be about half redecos and half new molds. Of course the redecoes could be really nice ones, like (just making this up, since they havn't said what they would be) a redeco of Cybertron Downshift as G1 Wheeljack or Cybertron Crosswise as Jazz. Redecoes that then up making cool G1 homages are fine.

Well if the repaint of other lines is true I will only be getting half of the new universe line because they are alway saying things like you just said but then it never turns out that way. We end up with this line being sold at places like big lot because they managed to scewup Redecoes that will then end up making cool G1 homages. So really hope they rethink that part of the line and do this line more like the orginal classics were they release four deluxe class, two voyagers class and one ultra class figures each wave all new molds with some repaint of these new molds thrown in were they make sense.

What's wrong with a few good redecos/remolds? Seekers are redecos, Prowl, Silverstreak and Smokescreen? Inferno and Grapple? Optimus and Magnus? Rumble and Frenzy? I have no problem with good redecos, it's been that way since day one.

I'm hoping "Universe" means that they're doing some Beast Wars/Machine figures too, since that seems like the only logical reason, to me, to change the name.

You don't really read the posts do you scaleface. It is not that I have problems with redecos/remolds of orginal figures that are being made for this line. What I have problem with and I always have had this problem is taking figures from other lines like cybertron energon or armada and slaping a new coat of paint on them and calling them jazz, wheeljack or windcharger and that is what got the last universe line in trouble and ultimately endup sending it to places like big lots. Because these figures don't fit into the classics mold a great example of this was when they tried to repaint the energon build team and call them constucticons no body bout this idea at all in fact I beleave it was the single worst selling figure in the whole orignial classics line.

If your going to have a go at people not reading your posts please make them easier to do so.
That is a harsh block of text with very long sentances that arent broken up by paragraphs or anything that would help the reader.

Personally i think there are a wealth of good molds that are worth redecos and would look good next to the new molds that are being developed

I read them. I disagree with you. I do like good repaints and I'll happily buy them. I don't recall ANY Universe repaints ending up at Big Lots, so you should stop repeating something that isn't true. The ones that ended up at Big Lots were straight Universe repackages of Sharkticon, Barricade, Storm Jet and Steamhammer. Simple leftovers repackaged later the same year the Energon versions a 2 dollars less than regular price. I wish they had redecoed them into G1 Characters - maybe G1 Sharkticon, Onslaught, Silverbolt and Scavenger - we ended up getting that Scavenger redeco of Steamhammer in Classics, so I'm happy.

If they had been in Energon Packages would you have complained they were selling them for $2 less at Big Lots? Somehow putting them in Universe packages makes them bad?

I love my TFs but this one'll just make me feel bad again. Every line I try to be a completist with I get close and then fail, and it kinda sucks but for now I'm saving my money and I will be buying lots of robots.

Look I'm not going argue with anymore because you have your opionion and I have mine scaleface. Nothing I say or do will change how you feel and that is fine because the world would be a really boring place if we all thought alike. I will look forward to the new molds that are coming in this line and enjoy having more classic molds to choose from.
