Inevitable Animated repaints/retools

Ratchet -> Ironhide
Ratchet -> Hideous movie toy colours, that somehow end up looking much nicer than they did on the movie toy, being a more movie accurate hue than the movie toy was.
Jazz -> Some other Autobot car(at least one). Maybe a Prowl, just so they can flog that character twice.
Prowl -> Completely random and nonsensical name choice with colours unrelated to any previous incarnation of that namesake.
Deluxe Optimus Prime -> Ultra Magnus
Voyager Optimus Prime -> Nemesis Prime(Ehobby exclusive!)
Bumblebee -> Cliffjumper
Arcee -> Elita 1, Chromia, or someone else along those lines.
Bulkhead -> Ironhide if Ratchet isn't
Blurr -> G1 colours, despite the character already being in G1-ish colours, the main difference between them actually being the vehicle mode or mould itself.

Starscream -> Thundercracker(since Screamer is already light blue, we'll finally have to get a toy colours Thundy, deep, dark metallic blue with bright orange).
Starscream -> Sunstorm.

Skywarp will end up being a Botcon exclusive, despite being a major character in the show. But it's okay, since a bunch of idiots over at TFW2005 who can afford them anyway will mercilessly defend this decision, forgetting that kids(and poor students) buy these things too. Their argument will be that there's no way it would possibly ever released; Animated is DONE, FINISHED! Three weeks later, Hasbro announce the cartoon and toyline are returning in a few months. Certain people go very quiet.

Lugnutz -> Horrible, eye-gouging Evac repaint.
Lugnutz -> Obsidian, but doesn't look anymore like Obsidian the original deco; rather both toys end up with the appearance that they capture difference aspects of Obsidian when put side by side.
Soundwave -> Soundblaster, or retooled into Blaster. Mould could also be used for Skids or maybe Ironhide.
Blackarachnia -> BEESTWARZ colours(as opposed to Geewun)

Megatron will be repainted into Galvatron, and when they decide to have him change into Galvatron next year in the series, they'll make a new Galvatron toy, and repaint that into Megatron.

its like nostrodamus how does he know the future.

mainly i think youve picked upon the stereotypes in the TF lines but seriously we knowso little about the line with out leaping to demonise hasbro over cynical cash grabbing repaints they havent even done yet

I think that I will be passing on this line entirely.

Some of those won't happen because they are going to be in the new universe line and hasbro has said that if the figure appears in one line they won't be in the other.

remember all, this is that line of toys that:

1)will be terrible (aka sucks) because the animation is awful.
2)will be a load of energon and cybertron repaints.
3)or if not 2) will NOT be transformable because just how can they be made into transformable toys looking like that????

the animation line spawned so much unfounded speculation brandished as fallicious arguments (particularly after the first image appeared) that the notion of repaints seems utterly reasonable by comparison!!

I hope they recolour Animated Blurr into Armada Blurr. That would rock.

Please don't bring this drama here. Disagreeing with the posters on that site is fine, but you just flamed an entire site by calling them idiots.

Consider this a warning. :?

They deserve every bit of it. There's a growing trend of "anti-fanboy" and every single one of them needs to be punched in the balls before they suck even more out of the fandom.

Plus that paragraph was hilarious.

Site Mod or News Crew????? :-?

I agree though, we don't need a site war, we have a friendly rivalry going on, that's what it should stay as, but as far as you not liking that site and all, just stay here...likje I told my EX Babies moma after her new marriage fell apart AND SHE TRIED TO GET ME BACK... "THE GRASS AIN'T ALWAYS GREENER...."

Stay here.. besides there are people who frequent both sites... we need to be civil..

I would cry if he was a Botcon exclusive. I'm just glad the little SDCC Skywarp wasn't so hard to get.

If you're right I'll come back and throttle you for giving them ideas. :MAD:

Is it just me or does animated Starscream look more like g1 Cyclonus than a seeker? They wouldn't even need to recolor him.

you see, we have very little to go on with this, a few pictures of what, 1. were transformable toys, and 2. didnt look as bad as the first few pictures of the show when it came out. second, I don't think that either line will have energon or cybertron repaints, at least I have not heard a word about it. and also, you think the animation is going to be horrible, but how do you know. have you sat down and watched it? don't judge something by a poster and a few minute clip that you could barely see/hear.

In all fairness Fender, the attitude he's discribing is very similer to certain posters (and mods) on this forum, and is something that bugs me too.

Anypoo, back to the topic at hand:

microclone wrote:will NOT be transformable because just how can they be made into transformable toys looking like that????

This dosnt apear to be true, judging by the prototypes we've seen thus far. I actully think that there will be some real gems in this line. I also think that this is yet another line where Starscream (at least in alt mode) gets utterly boned for a good toy again.

You are probably right about previous line repaints though:
Armada had some BM remolds.
Energon had some Armada repaints.
Cybetron had some armada repaints and remolds.
Even the Movie has had a couple of (store exclusive) cyb and energon repaints.

I'm not a fan of repaint. Retool is better.

chrisriss. you misunderstood my post, im TOTALLY into the animation toys. I was reiterating some common accusations thrown at the animation toys before they had even been seen.

When the first images appeared of the animation promo poster 90% of the posts were negative, people started speculating what the toys wwould be like before any evidence whatsoever surfaced (ie the botcon pics) one of the most common claims is that they couldnt possibly be transfomable toys (WHAT??) based on how they were looking in the animation. nothing wrong with speculation but after reading posts like 'these toys WILL suck, i wont buy them' based on one picture' I just had to poke fun at idle speculation.

I totally agree with you. Why do people bash everything that isn't G1 or is a repaint? Seriously, some of the animated toys looks bad, but some aren't. But saying that they are ALL crap due to a few pictures, it irks me.

I myself am looking forward to this, this will be my first line that ill be willing to get. I feel bad for being a movie spawned noob some times :oops:

renovating: as TF are very popular all kind of people are into them which unfortunately includes those who base a toys desirability on odd criteria such as how close it is to the animation, gen 1 megatron often comes in for criticism as its very unlike its toy counterpart which isnt the fault of the toy company as the toy was designed years before the animation was conceived. some will buy a toy because it has the name of their favourite gen 1 character (and it may be nothing like the original). sadly for the animation its the new style that puts most off, personally i dont care about the cartoon per se i'm more into the toys and if i like the look of a toy i'll put it on my list irrespective of its relationship to the animation/movie. AS far as i can see the animation toys look like a lot of fun. there are TF to cater for just about everybody coming through 2008 from reissues, movie, animation, classics and of course everything else on ebay, some are just hard to please.

Just for reference, I love the toys even more than Classics and the cartoon looks great(even if the animation style needs to be more solid).

The bots and vehicles do look good. (Except Starscream's inverted wings look odd.)

But the faces are questionable.

It will be intresting to see the painted version of these toys as it gets closer to release time for the new animated series.

The chins are what get me. I can see how Starscream's chin kind of suits a version of that character, but I was hoping there'd be a return to him being more effeminate like in G1 after the movie made him all ape-ish.
