Actually I got him late yesterday afternoon.. UPS, and Man that freaking Box Is HUGE!!! I thought that Box for the Robots in disguise Optimus prime from Japan was huge, but damn!! this box is ginormous compared to that!!

It is packaged in it's super convoy mode, with the top half already assembled and held in place with a plastic cushion/mold and those pesky twistie ties, the bottom half of the trailer in super pants mode is just below by like half an inch seperated...which makes him look like Darth Maul at the end of Episode 1..

the Clearish Dark-redish Overload is packaged in his super gun mode, ready to place on the shoulders of Super Magna Convoy!! the X-dimension minicon team is sweet too!!! I love this set! It's like the absolute perfect rendition of the last final battle Prime from the end of Armada!! the design on the back of the box is like the card!! sweet....

The Minicons are cool.. and they are all held in place in the same clear plastic cushion/molded to the toy and held in By twistie ties!!ARRGGGHH!!!

The paint applications on everything seems flawless!!! I haven't assembled him.... all I have done thus far is cut the thin piece of tape holding the side of the box down and pulled up the inner box with the set spectacularly placed there to view, and he is sooo ready to go!!! I love this toy!!!!

I'm debating on whether I should ship it to Mr. seibertron to take actual high rez photos for the seibertron gallery... Remy does a nice job, but I like Ryan's work as you can tell from my toy reviews that I've been doing...I want to make sure though if I shipped him, could he be taken extra special care of, though he wouldn't be MISB in box, I would still like to keep him MIB in the box.. storage reasons...atleast with him in storage until I can finally display him I could always visit him in the seibertron gallery..

Should I ship him and Have seibertron take high rez pictures???

I could take pictures of the box and the set inside, but I had my brother take some and well you saw them of Galaxy convoy, they are not very good..

You ought to drop Seibs a PM or better yet post in the "What figures do you want to see a gallery for next" thread.

I'd really like to see it.

No real need for pics, we've seen that set numerous times in the past. Cool haul though!

Be nice CP :P

Again congrats on grabbing the 'icing on the cake' piece from Armada S2. It just goes to show how underapreciated these moulds are when the set routinely goes for about a quarter of the price of the similarly themed God Fire Convoy set that was released in the same numbers and from the same shop as an exclusive.

I love my Clear Magnus more than it is really healthy for a grown man to love a toy  He's the main reason that I picked up mine, the fact that the Final Battle Convoy is just so much nicer than the western version just adds to the package overall. Enjoy. Display as you will, but please consider taking him out of the box and letting that clear plastic sparkle in the light as Primus intended (says he who has his set in storage under his brother's stairs whilst between homes  ).

ok I'll tell you what i found one last Magna Convoy on sale at an obscure website, toy website, I said I'd post a link for Gutsman Heavy but to be fair I may post it by itself...

What's the right thing to do.. I'm sitting on the one toy that is totally being sold under MSRP.. it should and probably would go for atleast 599.00 on E-bay!! but I found it for 149.00 plus shipping...

What is the right thing to do???

The Costco 2 pack in yellow, black and purply-red. Has Prime and Overload but not the extra Minicons and while nice in it's own right is still nowhere near as sweet as the glory that is the Magna Convoy set. Bought mine for a song when the Entertainer got in the overstock :-P I call the set Waspinator Prime.

Go ahead and drop Seibertron a PM to see if he'd like to take photos of it. I know he'd take real good care of it if he is willing to do it.

Actually, in a lot of ways, the CostCo set is more unique.

Now not knocking the Magna Set at all, but what it accounts for is:

-Powerlinx Prime (very similar to the US release, differences in shading of blues and greys, different, but not more detailing)
-Exclusive Street Action team (very cool, limited to the set)
-Crystal (clear) Magnus (US Overload, same markings, just in crystal format which is awesome)

CostCo set accounts for:
-Construction/waspinatior Powerlinx Prime (no comparable release in Japan, totally unique coloring)
-COnstruction Overload (Yellow and maroon colorings, unique to the US, no comparable release elsewhere)

Now if I had to choose the CostCo set or the Magna set, I'd take the CostCo one on account of having Powerlinx Prime (US) and Overload in the standard colorings. The Magna set is certainly done up much nicer and the release is a very cool gem from the era.

It's an apples and oragnes issue. They're very very different and both very cool.

I think the Costco version is very cool..

And not to downplay that version or the Poiwerlinx Version, I will say that the Magna Convoy Version is more detailed then the US release of Powerlinx, so i disagree with you there.. he does have more detailing, not just darker shades, as you can see from the Image Remy has...That's not the lighting either, his grill is really a lighter shade in the middle then the whole thing being gray, which gives it a nice effect.. the arm stripes weere a great touch, the non-faded colors are asweet and really bring him back to the original color scheme.. I can't understand why they were left off of the powerlinx version, and then also what is with the red faceplate??? Magna also has the red refelective eyes just like the cartoon version.. nice!!

I can't post too many, but you can drop by and see his comparisons..I have been studying this issue, and will have a full report in my Magna Convoy review..there are clearly more detailed painted areas on this guy then on the power linx...
