Classics Prime or Movie Prime?

Hey guys, I'm torn between getting the voyager Classics Prime or the voyager Movie Prime. My contempt for the 20th Anniversary Prime has swore me off of any leader version right now. My 20th is too bulky, his joints aren't very sturdy, he can barely hold his gun, and is more of a display piece than a pose and play piece.

I like the classic, but updated look and feel of the classics Prime and his gun is a huge plus. However, I enjoy the bot mode much more than his alt mode.

I also like the bad ass look of the movie Prime (the movie is what got me into Transformers and I think his alt mode looks bad ass with the flames), but his guns look horrible.

As you can see, I'm kinda stuck on the middle of the fence between these two. Any help or opinions would be a great help to sway me towards one.

Thanks,
SB

I think Classics Prime looks better in 'bot mode, but Movie Prime is nicer all around. Definitely a tough choice :D

Hmm..id say go for the classics. It has that slight edge over the voyager movie prime.

Dunno why your 20th prime is so lame. I have one and i consider it one of the best toys ever made.

I'd go with Classics. I think it has a better vehicle mode.

i love movie prime he just looks badass. but i also like the classic prime to. he looks great in bot mode gotta love that classic look. i have them both and if i had to choose i would have to choose the movie prime. he is just a great action figure. but mine just sits on a shelf. if your going to be playing with him get the classic, less to break or lose.

Go with classics prime because finding voyager movie prime is next impossible depending on where you live.

Classics Voyager Prime - Great bot mode, good alt mode & long since out of production.

Movie Voyager Prime - Ugly molded detail in bot mode, MASSIVE BACKPACK that's so massive it's written with capslock on & he's not even close to movie acurate in either mode.

The decision is pretty easy, get the Classics one while you still can - even if you want the Movie one, he'll be in production for a good while longer and probably still easy to find this time next year.

My local TRU is packed with voyager Primes, so availability isn't a problem.

There seems to be a major edge towards Classics Prime, so I'm going to oblige by leaning towards him right now.

However, I'm not going to get around to ordering him till Monday, so other opinions, advice, and comments are greatly appreciated.

And I really don't know why I'm so down on my 20th Anniversary Prime. I was expecting so much more and I guess I was just let down. It doesn't help the fact that transforming him into alt mode was ridiculously hard (the legs really dont like to shorten to form the truck bed). Mine is very hard to pose and his gun falls out every two seconds. But that Axe is very bad ass.

I don't know why people love to overexaggerate the backpack, but really, it's a minor cosmetic problem. Prime's poseability doesn't suffer from it, nor does it make it look ugly. Making me irritated that a measly little backpack is such a huge deal.

That said, get both of them; they're both excellent figures with some great pose and play potential. If I had to choose one, I'd definitely go with Classics Prime, but there's certain days I'd prefer playing with my Voyager Prime a bit more.

You can't go wrong with either, but I'm going to say Classics Prime as well. Personally I can get better posability out of him and the overall build quality is better.

Get classics prime
voyager prime not only has a backpack but also a fake torso.
He is not even movie accurate in both modes at all.

yeah i'd have to say classic prime.

Although I'm pretty new with transformers (cybertron), i've never really considered getting an optimus, but man the classic optimus just looks great.

and i never really liked how movie optimus looked

They are not exactly cheap dude. These toys go for £20 over here. We arent made of money and some of us have bills to pay and stuff. We cant all be kids living in our rich american parents basement and have every thing we want bought for us.

This is definetly one of those things where I would aim to get both.

Get your favourite of the two now, and get the other later, when they're on sale.

I beg your pardon?

1-I'm 32.
2-I just bought a brand new house.
3-I just bought a new car.
4-I just got married.
5-I have a shitload of bills to pay like any other adult out there.
6-I don't even have a high paying job.
7-And I can still afford to travel and get all the Transformers I want.
8-I'm Canadian.

Far from your "kid living in our rich american parents basement and have every thing we want bought for us".

Very true my friend. If I could afford to buy both right now there wouldn't have been a need for this post.

However, that extra $20-$30 has more important things to go towards such as gas, college tuition, groceries, life insurance, car insurance, etc. which is all due for me this month. I try to limit myself to two expensive TFs a month because I know my money doesn't grow on trees.

And this hobby is hardly cheap. That's why choosing to buy each TF (as least to me) is important. I want to spend unneccessary money on something I don't really want.

Awfully defensive response. I'm tempted to believe that Sonray has hit a little too close to home.

If you think insulting someone on this TF Forum is ok, then you picked the wrong forum.

Heh, yeah. What i was referring to is my disgust towards a large majority of people, usually under the age of 18, who have these huge collections of toys yet not one of them was ever bought by themselves. Yet they go around saying stuff like "TF's arent expensive, i have loads" yeah thats cos youve never worked a day in your life and you are a spoiled american brat!

If i wanted to insult you i would have done so, but you came accross like one of these brats i am referring to hence why i said what i did.

The fact is these are not "cheap" toys. So dont go around and tell people they have picked the wrong hobby just because they cant afford to buy two at a time.
