is it me or are transformers way to complecated for kids the ages suggest???

My dad says i waste to much money on my transformers and theyre for kids...and i said yer at least once i spend my money they stay forever, unlike him drinking his money away so i sed to him, if theyre so babyish u transform it? (alternators Shockwave)...couldent do it, wat bout this one (armada megs) nope so personly i dnt class them as toys anymore

anyone else feel the same?

don't think a 5 year old can morph that.

Heh, my parents don't care what I spend my money on, but when it comes to Transformers, the age doesn't matter. You can be 5 years old, you can be 17 years old, you can even be 40 years old and Transformers will still be enjoyable.

I'd love to buy another Voyager Ironhide, give it to a small child, and record video footage of the little idiot trying to transform it. Then I'd put it on YouTube and show it to the idiots who think there's something wrong with a thirteen-year old (i.e., myself) collecting transformers, because "ZOMG LOL TOYS R 4 LITTLE CHILDREN".

The age things are pointless. No one reads them. It's just so the toy company can't get sued when an ignorant parent buys their 3 year old an Alternator and the 3 year old gets hurt or something from the small parts or something.

I had to help a grandma about a week ago when she picked up Alternator Camshaft for her grandson who was at best about 4 or 5. I told her those were figures aimed at collectors and she quickly changed her choice to Movie Rachet.

I'm not entirely sure. I've only had experience watching my 7-year-old cousin transform my '74 Bumblebee. She couldn't get the stupid tab on the hood to push (and it took me two freaking minutes to get it,) but other than that she transformed it with almost no problems. I was holding my breath the entire time, but she did very well.

I just wish these things came with better transformation instructions. These pictures are nearly impossible to decode sometimes.

Leader Prime's transformation is pretty difficult. As far as I'm concerned it's more of a collector's item than a toy per se (in terms of playability it's actually very simple; a firing missile is not really good enough these days; Cybertron Prime and others fulfill the 'toy' requirement better). I think Leader Prime should be posed on shelves and treasured so.
