Why don't people like the camera lens heads? Even though they are less detailed,I still think they are awesome looking. It makes the robot look more high-tech to me.

It's too non-transformer like for me. I like it just not as individualized TFs except Shockwave, and Whirl.
Otherwise I prefer for it to be used very sparingly.

You have really detailed body and alt mode then you get to head and it is a camera lens. A great example of this is movie swindle I looked at his alt mode was already to buy him then I flip over package. I saw his head was a camera lens put him back right then and there.

It's alright, but they are kind of overusing that design with the movie figures. Seems to point to a lack of creativity to me.

I can dig it for now. They've only released like three figures with lens heads, and they're all drones. So, I don't mind terribly.

I don't like swindle's head either, but I really like payload's. One more reason I love that figure.

I don't mind the camera lens heads. But I'm not interested in buying any of those figures either.

I'm not taking out a contract on the designers' heads (oh the irony) but I don't love the idea. I feel it takes away from the character of the toy. The faces always used to give me some sort of idea of what the character was like. I could kind of hear them speaking. It made sense for Shockwave because his character kinda is that he has no character. He's ruled by logic, shouldn't need a way to express himself. I'm not really a fan of many of the movie designs anyway, especially the heads/faces, so this camera lens look is disappointing, especially when some of them are otherwise really interesting looking toys.

It just screams "Generic Robot". No personality, no humanity, nothing to care about.

I would prefer lense head to humaniod crappy head like skyblast. "Cool" but not realistic.

put it this way, if your soldiers are drones, and as such have no emotions to express why bother giving them expensive faces to express with, and instead add a big camera for better vision, which would be more useful for the operator.

That's cool, but I say if it's a drone don't give it a bio and personality then, because as was stated they are just emotionless machines, so why give them individualized bios like they are separate characters?
If they do indeed have personalities than the case can be made for them needing a face more prone to individualness.

Movie line Swindle is a mystery to me, anyway.
Name = Swindle
Personality (and, to a degree, alt-mode) = Runabout
Face = None.

Yes, but it still doesn't make these one-eyed borefests any more desirable.
