First Re-Issue Ultra Magnus and now this...

Yes, it appears to be true, but don't get too excited, the prices are a bit outrageous at $98.72 for each, except Starscream who is $79.88.

All are listed as IN STOCK even Megatron.

Here are the links:

Optimus Prime

Megatron

Starscream

Soundwave

I cannot imagine a lot of people will buy it from Walmart as you were able to get a set for less than half that amount from most online retailers.

However, many have sold out, so this option is now available.

Is this a test to see how well imported collectible toys would sell on the wholesale market? Or something else?

Let us know what you think!

As always, we'll try to keep you informed of any new toys news, in the Seibertron.com Toy News section.

That product description sounds like a bad translation.

Guess Hasbro's experiment with MP Magnus must have paid off though if they're going to release the encore line in the US. Though how won't Megatron have to be modified?

Thanks for the heads up. I hope they don't sell well and they roll the price back to $50. I might jump on a Megs for that.

For that matter, how will Convoy adhere to toy safety laws with his long stacks?

Too rich for my blood. I'd jump on Megatron if he was around $50 though.

Well when they released Masterpiece Ultra Magnus in Australia they slapped a higher age sticker on it and pretty much marketted it towards collectors.

Perhaps they'll do the same with imported Encore.

BigBadToyStore still has Soundwave and Starscream in stock for HALF of what Walmart is charging... So no thanks.

Personally I think Walmart is banking on the "uneducated" newbie collectors that dont know any better. Which is sad, but business is business I guess.

How will they get around the gun toy law with this Megatron? Another orange piece?

I assume the "new molding" refers to an orange safety cap.

Well, considering Megatron and OP aren't available any more, this might be an option for collectors who waited too long to order before-if it's legit (which I can't see why not).

You know, on a different note, it just occured to me that, instead of potentially blowing the bank on a Classics SS, I just need to get the encore to display with the G1 MP SS I'm planning on getting when released-through Walmart no less.

Wal-Mart will soon become the Empire and will take down all other retailers and the rebels will strike back. Welcome to Market Wars!

$98.00??? Are they out of thier minds? Who's buying this stuff for that kind of cash when you can buy the Takara re-issues and the several other re-issues for less?

Not that they can keep stock anyway, but at that price, PASS all the way around!

This is very interesting that Takara is getting into Hasbro's territory. Perhaps this is a sign of good things to come.

Maybe this crazy rumor I heard at Wizard World about Walmart wanting to do a Fort Max reissue alongside other reissues isn't quite so crazy now. Hmm ... now I'm wishing I remembered exactly what Brian told me.

Even though it is very surprising I wouldn't go for it. BBTS sells them cheaper even though Optimus and Megatron are sold out there.

Prices are way too high for me to afford at this moment  , but i am glad they have G1-reissues... including MEGATRON!!!

And I wouldn't mind the orange cap (or any other silly color) long as its a genuine (i.e. better quality) G1 Megatron. :CON:
