Hi all,
I'm new to the forum so a big hello from me. I'm interested to know what differs an original cast from a re-release?
most of mine are from when i was a kid, all bought in the mid eighties. They all have HASBRO stamped on them, all except my prowl and prime (gee i love prowl!) they are Jap Takara items. I've had them locked away for some time, only finding them not long ago, most of their weapons are missing and i still cant find my Bumble Bee, Rek-Gar, Soundwave or Ironhide, I don't think ill see those again.

Howdy! a re-issue has current year stamps and is modified if needed 2 fit current toy laws. it is also worth a lot less.

Takara reissues are generally closer to the original release. The Hasbro ones are often missing chrome applications and either have longer missiles or original length missiles with non firing launchers due to current US toy safety legislation.

Sunstorm was put out by a Japanese company called ehobby when Takara released their Starscream reissue a couple of years ago. There was also a Grapple recolour in Constructicon colours called Hauler. Both of these were homages to the original 3 part 'More Than Meets the Eye' cartoon. There was an orange Seeker on Cybertron at the start of the episode who showed up again in another season 1 episode but was never named in the cartoons. Hauler also showed up in one scene and was refered to by name but didn't get any lines.
