Encore Megatron's so-called "cap"

I received my Encore set earlier this week. I just opened up Megatron to see what the "cap" was like. Wow. What a joke! Kudos to whoever came up with this work-around for U.S. laws. I was able to pull out the cap with minimal pulling from my fingernails. There's a little glue residue inside of Megatron's gun barrel, but I'm sure I'll be able to get that out with a little Goo-Gone or something. Apparently, the gun cap is no big deal to remove. Did any of you get Masterpiece Megatron with the cap? Was it just as easy to remove?

I am glad to hear that the cap is not an issue. I really didn't think it would be after the reports about MP Megatron's cap being easy to remove.

I got mine from Toynk with no cap. Where did you get yours from?

I don't know if everyone is using that cap design or not, but that sounds like the one BBTS is using.

I got my MP-06 reissue from Tim at Toynk a while back and it was not capped. He seemed to be able to get them into the country with no problems at all despite what was being said here at the time (back in March, I think)

Haven't opened mine and have no plans to. Masterpiece had a big plug that you could pull out with ease, no glue.

What is wrong with that? Some collectors like to keep their toys sealed. It is only a matter of preference.

Why must you act like this?
Why do you always have this kind of attitude?

I always wonder why the real firearms can be bought on the street and worn while the toys need al kind of safety regulations and blaze orange caps etc.

I'm happy my mp-5 is sealed and cap less.

Actually it is, if you have the toys in it, and like the boxart, it can be just as satisfying as opening them, transforming them, and putting them on a shelf to collect dust.

I have other versions of these toys open, so I am choosing to keep this set MISB, because it is like the original packaging, and looks great with the toy in the window.

You have it your way, I'll have it mine.

I'm not from the US and I have always wondered, do people mod their illegal or legal firearms to look like toys? (Orange tape at the tip of the gun for example.)

Not that I am aware of. Most of the muzzles on toys are actually plugged with orange plastic, so thre is no completely open end.

I know it sounds naive, but why would gun owners want to mod their guns to look like toys? Terrorists maybe, but your run of the mill violent gang members and gun owners. Hmmm... :???:

With the current "youth" gang violence in the UK it's a valid question.. who do you suspect when all the 11 year olds on their bmx have an orange tip on their "piece"

Ah well especially on G1 toys, the box art is way better than the toy itself...

Had to yank the red cap of Mp Megatron with a wrench. It gave me a little trouble. Took a couple of minutes. Still waiting for encore Megatron which I ordered from Tfsource.
Don't know if it will have the red tip yet. So we'll see how that goes.

I've heard it's only the barrel of the P-38 that has a cap.
Nothing else?

I haven't been bothered to even order this fella in, orange cap or no, considering Aussie customs stopped MP Megatron getting into the country.

Actually, I haven't read anything about Encore Megatron getting seized yet, and he actually could be mistaken for a real firearm...

BBTS caps them. MP megs cap was much bigger than encore megs. I got both out no problem, a little Naptha on a Qtip to get rid of the residue and off I go.

also, i open all of my TF's and display them transformed. So no biggie for me, but I already knew they would open it.

:)
