Kohls Story

Hi everyone, new to the boards, but I thought I'd share my hunting story after visiting Kohls a few minutes ago. Obviously like everyone else I've been going to every Wal-mart and Target in and around my area trying to find any deluxes, voyagers, etc., to no avail. Mostly coming up with the same scenario everytime which would be either completely empty shelves, or the usual suspects. However after reading on the boards here for a little while that a lot of deluxes have been spotted at Kohls recently, I decided to give it a shot, and sure enough my girlfriend and I visit Kohls a few minutes ago and there were a ton of deluxes. They had atleast 6 08 BB's, 3 Arcess, Dreadwing, etc. So after all this time the last place I would have thought to look actually had tons of what I was looking for (thanks to the forums here). So if anyone still hasn't found the elusive 08 BB, Arcee, etc., I highly suggest checking out Kohls if you have one in your area, they seem to have a lot in stock.

Welcome to the boards. The proper introduction is "Watch out Seibertron contains nuts." Fortunately these are of the hypo-allergenic type.
Enjoy the community.

What area are you from? I've checked my Kohls daily and they still haven't restocked yet. Everytime I ask them to check in the back just to make sure...I always come up empty.

I'm from North Carolina. Every place around here other than Kohl's are pretty much void of anything other than like real gear, and have been for awhile. I'm assuming the Kohl's here restocked these either the past couple of days (since there were so many), or people around here just don't think to check there, which could also be why they had a lot.

I thought I read Bumblebee was actually a Pontiac.
They just stuck the Bow tie on it and said it was a Chevy.

Bumblebees frame was the Pontiac GTO. The design team built new body panels and put the bowtie on it. The frame, Engine, Transmission and interior are all Pontiac, the body is the new Camaro.

Er....
The three Concept Camaros used for filming were created in a matter of about five weeks. Each one started as a fully stock Pontiac GTO. Each one was stripped and gutted, and Saleen took Chevy's designs and brought them to life. Each Bumblebee (vehicle mode) is hand crafted and extremely expensive. ($250,000.00 a piece)
A production Camaro based on the in movie car's design will be hitting the retail market late 2008 (which will be called the 2009 model).
The Cliffjumper toy is a repaint of the new Bumblebee, in red, silver, and black. There is no Trans Am anymore, just the Camaro.

Er, no, there will be a Firebird. There were concept drawings of the 'Bird about a year ago with a different nose, hood, and rear end. Pontiac has yet to announce it.

Unfortunately those were just photoshoped by a fan. It's a shame if Pontiac doesn't see those pictures and all the intrest they created and capitalize on it though.

If anyone wants to see just how beautiful a new Trans Am COULD look just check this link out. I think the Trans Am has always looked better then Camaros no matter what year.

I'm glad someone mentioned that. I knew there wasn't a Trans Am rebirth. A local radio station had people calling in to the talk show bitching about the Camaro coming back, but not the Trans Am.
....GM never did say why they chose one over the other.

My Girlfriend works for GM and has been following the development of the 09 Camaro for a while now. She can confirm that, sadly, there are no plans for the Firebird to return at this time, or in the future.

Well, basically Chevy is the flagship company for GM. Chevy always was the favorite but the others quietly made better cars many times. The Trans Am was one of them. Many people don't realize this but the entire decade of the 1970's Gm's fastest and best handling car was not the Covette. It was actually the Trans Am. Gotta give credit to the Pontiac guys because they fought tooth and nail for GM to allow them to keep the 455 and 400 powerplants in the Trans Ams. GM finally put the skids on Pontiacs 455 and 1976 was the last year for it but Pontiac was able to hang on to the 400 until 1979 (some TA's in 78 and 79 were Oldsmobile 403 though). While Chevy scrapped the big block entirely in 1973 and the most you could get was a 350 from 73 on. The 1973 Trans Am Super Duty 455 was the last real muscle car and would spank any car by any of the other manufacturers of the same time period. Chevy, Ford or anything Chrysler made in the mid 70's wouldn't even touch a Trans Am SD 455. So those guys at Pontiac deserve a round of applause for hanging on as tightly as they did. Too bad noone at Pontiac now days has those kind of cahonas.

And that's exactly why we won't see the Trans Am's rebirth. I'd love to see this Knight Rider project finally get off the ground, and have a fantastic brand new Trans Am to go along with it. A K.I.T.T. that would beat the sh*t out of his first two bodies (1982, and Banshee proto in Knight Rider 2000) and still look good, even scuffed up.

LOL I love it!... I've been wondering why ppl all over the net have been calling him that. I've also noticed ppl getting his '76 wrong too. some have been sayin' '74 '75 and even '77.
