Check it out. It's a pretty cool list and Prime is sitting pretty at the top of it.

I agree, as long as it's the 20th Anniversary of the Transformers (the Takara-styled Walmart edition) versus the 20th Anniversary of the DVD Prime. He's just too plasticky looking and the red is off.

The first 20th Anni version was not a Wal-mart exclusive :-B :P

It's the same exact toy, just different plastic colors/paint apps. And the red is supposed to be off, supposedly more "cartoon acurate"

There are recent sightings of DVD Prime for $20 at some Wal-Mart. That must be the deal of the decade then

BTW I bought one when it was $50 at the Wal-Mart near me.

I personally love the DVD prime. At first I hated the color scheme, but it was all I could find. After awhile though, especially while comparing it to the cartoon, you really do see how accurate this is. I bought some long smokestacks for mine, and seriously, this is the most cartoon accurate Prime.

Well, that makes since about the colors but I'm not talking about the one released with the DVD. I bought 2 at Walmart 3 years ago and they're exactly like the Takara designs.

EDIT: I believe this release was in 2004 for the anniversary of the original Transformers release in the US.

I don't hate the DVD Prime but cartoon accurate or not, I like the original colors better, especially the gun.

Yes, it was the same design, but again colors were different (battle-damaged in the US vs. clean in Japan), and their are the shortened stacks for any 20th US release versus non-shortened for Takara's release.

Takara's release never had the black gun though, and there were two US versions, one black and one grey gun...which now brings the US variants up to 3 with the blue gun version with no battle-damage (DVD).
