After reading an interview with one of the writers for orignal g1 cartoon. Finding out that both wheelie and daniel were supposed to be teenagers. But some dumb ass over hasbro over ruled the idea and said we need a more kid friendly marketing stratage. I thought to myself man just think about how the toy could have turned out and the whole new set of story ideas that would have opened up for season three. So why do think hasbro made wheelie the way he was.

Sportimus say, why won't Wheelie just go away?

I believe Jazz did some rhyming first...

Jazz's voice was cool, Wheelie's was just plain annoying.

It really makes wonder how many good ideas hasbro turns down and how my stupid ones they except when it comes transformers.

But Jazz was probably slated to die in a movie draft or three, I mean he was pre 1986 and all

In one of movie drafts plant cybertron was supposed to transform into primus and battle unicron but that didn't happen either. Although that would have been a really cool ending to movie, and would have explained what vector sigma was. Then we could have avoid the whole quint subplot from the third season of the show which end up going no where.

Personally, I like Wheelie. I like his personality and that he's basically a little kid. His actions in the DW comic War and Peace are quite funny, especially biting Prime and then getting scolded.

Wheelie toy is really bad.
I wonder if this is Hasbro original design, or another import from some old unkonwn Japanese toy.

Not sure where you've picked up this titbit but if that's acurate I don't think that it would have been 'Primus'. To the best of my knowledge Primus originated in Simon Furman's
Legacy of Unicron in the Marvel UK comics, post movie. The concept of Cybertron as a Transformer showed up in early versions of
The War Within but wasn't actually realised until
Cybertron. Now I'm not saying that this 86 movie draft doesn't exist, but as far as I'm concerned the movie predated Primus as a concept.

Ok, ok...
Let's get this straight here about Wheelie.
When Galvatron attacks, what do most Transformers do?
They run. They run away like little girls.
What does Wheelie do when Galvatron attacks him in "The Five Faces of Darkness"?
He shoots Galvatron in the face.
That, my friends is harsh.
F' with Wheelie, get shot in the face Dick Cheney style.

Hang on. When Galvatron attacks, don't the rest of the Autobots normally... er, counter-attack? I'm pretty sure the series would have been a lot different if each 'Con attack was met by the Autobots screaming "Run away! Run away!" and fleeing.
Possibly followed by servants banging coconut shells together.

Teenagers are every bit as annoying as kids. If not more.

Too true! I posted my opinions on Wheelie earlier this week in the "Wheelimus" thread:
I never understand the general hatred for Wheelie. I like him! As a concept anyway. Think about it...
He's the only person he knows living in the wilds of Quinntessa, dodging Sharkticons and Allicons all day but clearly unafraid. After all, the first thing he does is look for a opening to attack Grimlock and take over the Dinobot "pack". That's like a 10 year old picking a fight with MechaGodzilla. By his actions, he is accepted by the most xenophobic group of Autobots and even gets them to follow him! Before that? Who knows where he even came from? I always figured he was a Junkion kid or at least TV taught like them...
He's not the lame retarded kid they depicted in Season 3.
He's Mowgli from the Jungle Book!
An I stick to my view on this. Wheelie had way more potential than anyone has ever admitted!

Yeah, and Rodimus Prime had the potential to be the greatest Autobot leader. Shame things didn't pan out that way. Rodney became a whiney wuss, and Wheely was irritating beyond belief.

Wheelie is yet another broken character. So close but so far than down the toilet he went! Oh and there were plenty of "Galvatron just showed up, RUN!" battles under Rodimus and Magnus. Wheelie had the touch, the power, the heart, the motion and all that crap.

Let's give that little kid some love. But only if he shuts up. hehe
