Why didn't Hasbro Dew it?

You know, I searched for this so if it’s a repost, I apologize. If so, just let me know and I’ll get this locked.
I was thinking about this summer’s Mountain Dew tie in with the Transformers. How they didn’t push for a tie in with Hasbro too where they did a Transformer figure based on the machine in the movie is beyond me. What an obvious tie in, especially since now it seems that Chevy’s finally putting out their own official movie figure. One can only hope that they’ll “dew” something for the DVD release. I’d actually start drinking cases of Diet Dew if I could get a limited edition Machine figure. Hell, he could ride on top of Pepsi Prime.

would they use Dewbot or Dispensor?
I haven't seen the movie yet(not much of a cinema person)
so I don't know if Dispensor transforms, but I have played the Dewbot game he seems like he'd be an awesome transformer toy.

Dewbanator or Dewbatron ;O. WHy settle for 1 when we can have A Mountain Dew AND Pepsi machine? I'd buy 3, 2 of each 1 and to have someone turn it into a A&W machine. ;D

They didn't do it because at the time, like Prime's energy sword, they didn't know about it.

Funny little tidbit: During the final fight while the TF's are screwing around with the AllSpark, A Mountain Dew vending machine does get turned into a robot. If Hasbro can actually release that tow truck as a TF, then they could do the MD machine/TF as well.

I knida think that's why the thread was started. Anyway, I'd love to see it, but what play value would the alt mode have?

In stop motion projects, or comics or kids who like to have props for their legos or g.i. joes that the machine they're at all of a sudden turns into a ornery robot and shoots pop cans at em.

I doubt it interested the developers- the options available to them for a deluxe would have likely had a large quantity of kibble present as FAB Frenzy does.

Knowing the Chevy promotion, you'd probably have lease a Mountain Dew Machine for a year to get any Dewbot figure.
Yes, a 1/18 scale Dew Machine would be Ideal for GI Joe tie-ins... and at some point a Pepsi Repaint would make its debut as an attendee only Botcon Exclusive.

I think about this very thing every time I've seen the movie (seven so far) and every time I'm in the break room at work with the pop machines. I would LOVE a Dew-bot that shot out real miniature pop cans or bottles.
But why stop there? How about an evil Escalade Transformer or an X-Box Transformer too? Forgive me if I'm repeating previous suggestions.

Just cause they werent major characters doesn't mean they cant make us novelty characters, look at the real gear chars..They make those but not ones that would be even more popular and more fun to transform? =(

Or it could just...fall over on them, transform and run away
But would it be Autobot, Decepticon or Neutral?

I would have bought a Mountain Dew Transformer as well, if it had've been made.
But Hasbro would have had to have put it in the Real Gear line, seeing as the Dewbot would be downright silly to put in the main line of movie figures. And a basic size class would not have done the Dewbot any justice whatsoever.
And you can argue all you want about releasing him in the normal movie line as a Deluxe (or larger) but think about it from a business approach, and it is not really practical or sensible.

Hasbro needs to do the Dew Bot. They did the Caddy and the Tow Truck (which didn't transform), and came out with some crappy drones (Payload and ugly jet thing), they can dew this one as well. Talk about missing a great marketing opportunity...
