Okay... These must be the 7 inch knock-offs... The same I
found from a small grocery store toy shelf, which was the
least likable place in town to find TFs, for 8 euros!=)

No Chrome parts at all and there's handguns for only three bots!

Look at the large screw on the threads of the bulldozer for
instance...That and the lack of any chrome is always a
giveaway!

These are small but still very nice! It's totally worth...
Well.. 10e tops...And Reprolables promiesed to make a
suitable set for both sizes of the knockoff devs, soonish! =)

Original stickers are loose crap and ya need to trim some spruce
crap to have tighter neater fit on vehicle modes!

Wow. I just started salivating.

But really, check your local Big Lots. I got my Devastator KO for $6. Is it worth $6? YES. Is it as good as the original? No. But it's close.

I got a KO with chorme parts. I haven't had any problem with him. However, there is no metal on the figs so they are really light.

The KO's should not cost more than $10 to $15 bux US. Anything more is a rip off.

...that is without a doubt, *THE* most pristine loose complete set of G1 Constructicons that I have ever seen. Those are absolutely gorgeous. O_o

And yes, it surely costs a hell of a lot more than $10 a piece.

I'm thinking of getting some off ebay. Anyone have any pointers on which KO is the best in terms of quality? Any of them have any diecast?

The best Bootleg, in terms of quality: a KO of Diaclone Devastator. Multi colored, was found at Walgreens, and rumored to have Die-Cast pieces.

The second best bootleg is the one known as Combat Engineer (all green and purple, no chrome)

The others...are really, really iffy. I will say, any Devastator bootleg is pretty shoddy. Don't expect miracles out of the set.

Thanks man.

What about 'Combat Engineer' devastator is better? Is it just in terms of plastic quality? Any idea of what name the Walgreens figure goes under?

I have about 3 original constructicons in a box somewhere, never managed to complete the original set.

Plastic quality and construction quality. I've seen some bootlegs of it that you could just stare and it wanted to fall apart. In fact, a friend of mine owned one. It was one of the sets that they put in the Easter Baskets at K-Mart, and Wal-Mart. Which is made by the came company as Combat Engineer, however...the ones in China (covered in Chinese languages) seem to have better work done. It's like they said "Going to America. F*ck them." lol

The Walgreens Devastator (in different packaging) is here: http://www.adinfo.qc.ca/alex/?page_id=46

According to this packaging, it's called "Team Construx Equipe" Those are supposed to be based off of (albeit changed somewhat) the color scheme of the Diaclone (Pre-TF) originals.

Hope this helps.

http://www.heggle.com/item/2143128/Pre_ ... tructicons This is a commercial for one set of Pre-TF/Diaclone Constructicons. As you can see, they were obviously the basis for the Yellow and Orange G2 sets.

This bootleg, you *do* want to avoid: http://mykooltoyz.tripod.com/bootleg-tf.html The yellow one is just shoddy all the way around. Seriously.

thanks again.

I sort of think, at the price these things go for, you can't really go wrong. At the same time, I don't want to end up with a load of junk that just sucks the joy out of the figures.

They are pretty flimsy, and messy. Honestly they have put me off the real thing they are so bad.

so after almost 2 months i finally got this thing in the mail. dude had to send me another since the first one got lost in the mail.

overall, i feel like i got my money's worth. true, it is flimsy, and im scared to even transform it or take it apart again, but it actually looks good. mind you i had to re-apply/remove some of the stickers but that was no biggie. it even looks like it would glow in the dark! but unfotunately, it doesnt :???:

thanks china

Thanks to FirstGen I found these guys at BigLots. The smaller one was four dollars and the regular sized one was 6 dollars. They're of course not as good as Hasbro's, the stickers suck, etc. But I haven't had any problems with the plastic quality, missing parts, or breaking during transformation. I actually bought 2 of the regular sized ones anticipating problems, thinking I could mix and match between the 2 sets, but so far I haven't had any problems with them.

The smaller one came in a box, which is nice since after playing with it I can put it away.

In this pic I'm actually holding the bucket of the dumptruck and shaking the toy back and forth, nothings breaking or coming apart. He holds together just fine.

I don't know if I just got lucky, but all 3 sets have given me no problems. Oddly enough I find myself really enjoy the smaller scale one, he just seems tighter and more compact.

For sixteen dollars I got 3 sets of Constructicons. Sure they're knockoffs, but for that price they're pretty decent knockoffs.

Plus I don't like the new 5 man Constructicon team they call Devastator, so I'm happy with the old school KO's.

Good luck.

Definitely try Walgreens. They are running a "buy 2 get 1 free" promotion on the knockoffs. I got Devastator, Superion, and Bruticus for $11.98. The Devastator was not rainbow colored, but green and purple. No die cast that I can remember.

Like you I have three original Constructicons, but never got the whole set. I originally tried mixing and matching with the Big Lots yellow KOs, and the result was a rickety, two-tone mess. The Walgreens Devastator is a little better in terms of quality, and it also matches the original color.

The original constructicons don't have die cast. I own the originals and mine don't at least.
