the autobots are way out numbered, why not make more autobots. i know there are more coming out for maybe christmas or early next year but i think they should have evened it out a little. I know most of the scouts are autobots but i really don't count those.

The Decepticons have a severe deficit of teamwork, whereas the
Autobots, more or less, function as One.

From a Product perspective, I believe they felt the Decepticons
would prove more popular.

thats what I'm talking about on the other threads! the autobots are out numbered, out gunned, out sized, but they have to make a way for them to win, just like sam witwicky in the movie. IMO I dont like it. I think it should be fair. But its a movie, the good guys will always lose till the end

Well, it's pretty hard to even out, isn't it? How do you propose we do this? It's completely fair right now - if anything, the Decepticons should all be Leader Class except for Barricade.

Bad guys should always outnumber the good though.

Wow. That's the most complete collection of movie toys i've seen.

Funny thing is that I have 5 Movie Decepticons while I only have 1 Autobot.

Honestly though, I want Hasbro or Takara to go nuts and have a line that has 150 different Autobots and a 150 different Decepticons. Why? So I won't feel sad that I haven't completed the line, cause I know no one else will, and it would be the greatest line in the history of Transformers!

yeah bad guys do usually out number the good guys, and that was fine for the movie. but as for toys it seems they just keep adding Decepticons and not really trying with Autobots. But maybe its just me that would like more Autobots, i remember when i was a kid i had way more gi joe's than cobra. Maybe my parents didn't want me to have to many of the evil people.

I like the Autobots more too, although I love Megatron. I think they should stop with the stupid Decepticon drones and make quality Decepticons or Autobots instead.

Can't put it more succinct than that.

Having more bad guys than good guys gives the good guys the "underdog" tag, something that is meant to make their victory all the more fantastic.

I think it's because of the video game drones,
although you did fight drones in the decepticon storyline
I guess it wasn't very fitting for the autobots to have drones.

But if you count all the repaints it evens out a little.
Deceptions add voyager megatron = 18 deceptions
Autobot add final battle jazz, battle damage BB, robovision optimus, normal voyager optimus, ultimate bumblebee = 16 autobots

Add 08 wave
Deceptions (metallic megatron, desert brawl) = 20
Autobots (metallic rachet, evac, cliffhanger, nightbeat OP, classis OP, ironhide repaint?, the osprey?, the buggy?) = 24

Of course hasbro is still cheating since the 24 autobots are really just a retool/repaint of G2 Wheelie (bet nobody noticed that!!!)

Evac looks sweet though. What a great repaint of blackout.

The Osprey, Incinerator, is a Decepticon.

I seem to remember a Transformers toyline - and correct me if I'm wrong - where the Decepticons spent at least two years outnumbered and had to fill their ranks with more gestalts, seeker repaints, and cassettes to even hope to balance out against the Autobots. Right, that was G1. Thanks in part to the Japanese stuff, they're still not more numerous than Autobots.

As for the movie, at least half the Decepticons, if not all save Starscream, die terrible and cheap deaths. They deserve more toys for such injustice.
