A friend of mine in China says these are all the rage, but he isn't sure if they are known as something else outside China. Anyone recognize them?

That a knockoff figure from the videogame and anime series D.I.C.E., which is kinda like zoids.

yeah, thats a knockoff from D.I.C.E., i have the official version of that figure. i tried to get into the series but it was never on TV, and compared to transformers that i was also into at the time, the figures sucked. the armored human figures were great (some of my most poseable figures ever), but the dinosaur/vehicles sucked.

Some TF toys has even fewer transforming steps.

i know, but im not too big on those. i prefer small complex transformers, its rare for me to buy anything bigger than voyager because i hate bulkiness too. (the last big one i bought was movie leader optimus due to his good reviews i figured id go for it, also, it helped me talk my brother into a brawl so i could play with it when he was done

)

Yeah, i prefer small interesting toys too. That is the reason why i never seriously collected Alternator/Binaltech/Masterpiece line.

I was actually really interested in that series, but sadly it was moved to digital cable here, along with no sign of any of the toys. I was really hoping for it to catch on more.

Yeah, it's a D.I.C.E ko, but the series isn't great, and isn't worth looking into. At least, my idea anyway.
