God, I really hate finding TFs I want in places they don't belong in stores.

What was initially a five-minute TF check at Walmart turned into a half an hour treasure hunt after I found Classics Cliffjumper incorrectly stocked in the Pokemon section. I checked the same Walmart yesterday, and there weren't any Classics to be seen.

Now, I don't know if all TF fans think this way, but I always think, "hot damn, maybe someone intentionally put this here as a half-assed hiding spot to pick up later!", and end up scouring pretty much the whole toy department looking for specific hiding spots.

This time I actually found a couple Minicons hidden behind the Bionicle endcap stock (a common hiding spot, I found Alt Sunstreaker there a few weeks ago), but yeah, with a relatively low payoff, you'd think I would've learned my lesson by now. Nope.

What can I say, once a TF collector, always a TF collector.

Anyone feel the same way? What's the longest anyone here's ever scavenged for TFs in one store?

EDIT: Additional question added.

I think you want to talk to the guy who made the "Where is your best hiding spots for tf figures in walmart?" thread.

Not really. I'm usually happy if I find something I want to buy when I've got the money. I don't care if they stock it in the tampons and sanitary pads section.

yeah, i think this issue is already being discussed in another thread. but to answer your question: no, it doesn't bother me at all, it's all part of the hunt. once you find it, it's basically fair game, you either buy it if you have to money or don't.

Yeah, I don't "hate" it really, but man, I can't spend all my free time TF hunting. I gotta do other things, like go home and play Metroid Prime 3, consarnit!

Yeah, but the question is, why the hell are you in the tampon isle?

There are probably no low blows in a collector's hunt for transformers

dont forget that kids pick up things to look at, walk around the store and then dump them places.

I've put TFs in my cart, to "think about" getting while I shop. I never put them back. Am I in denial about this growing addiction? Oh well, I could be addicted to crack.

Only low blow is scalpers. Otherwise, everything else is fair game. That Sunstreaker I mentioned in my original post? I didn't buy it, but I reported it in the Sightings forum, and some other Seibertronian went and bought it right after work.

I enjoy the hunt, looking around places and see a TF in a random place gives you a adrenaline rush and go on a search, until a Target employee (they walk around alot more then wally world employees) sees you and looks at you weird. "Just hunting for Transformers" and gon your merrily way.

Hint for all hunters, search the furniture dept. =P

Yeah, after reading in that other thread that people hide TFs in the furniture display drawers, I might have to spend a whole day at Target or Walmart upending crap everywhere.

My Walmart must have waves of store clerks putting toys back where they are supposed to go. I have NEVER seen any toy in an out of the way place. Any time I try to hide something, it's back where it belongs the next day.

My K-Mart is a different story however. That toy isle hasn't been picked up in years. Literally, years. You find stuff stewn all over the place. I hid a Leader Class Megatron for a week or so until payday one time. A Leader Class Transformer! Wasn't that hard really. I could hide a Unicron with no problem.

Ah the smell of the hunt. Nothing better than waking up every saturday morning with a handful of dpci's and going to work. Then I spend the first half hour searching Targets backroom for whatever is new. Then I put it all aside so it wont get put out. Then I call up everyone i know that wanted something.
