yeah, for all of you who owns the original Lio Convoy, i'm asking you if this fig's worth shelling out some bucks into?
i'm really interested in getting this fig,all the more because he's gonna star in the next Beast Wars comic, Ascending. w00t!
could you at least help me on the following aspects:
1.) plastic quality
2.) playability
and also, can you post any other quirks/pros & cons for this figure? thanks.

I like him, except the lion head sits a little too close to Prime's head in bot mode, therfore hindering poseability.

thanks for the input, lapse - any more considerations about this figure? i.e., some have said that the mane is a hindrance in robot mode...
btw, i forgot to add another category: poseability. heh heh.

Well, he is much better that Big Prime, IMO. There are only 2 things on Leo Prime that annoys me: His gun missiles shoot INCREDIBLY easily. How easily? Sometimes just touching the missle can send it flying. The other is the lion's head hinders his right arm to almost a static pose, almost no posability in that arm. Plus, the fact that he is the king of the jungle pwns

.
Big Prime annoys me as a 'Transfrmer'. His upper body just separated and becomes his gun by fipping it, almost in a shell former kind of way.
And he is really STARRING in the next comic? I'm there!

uh...actually i don't think the comic's out yet. haha. i just saw one over the internet, there are advance reviews also (though for not wanting to spoil the story i haven't read these yet).
anyways, anymore advice on Lio Convoy? looking for a Robotmasters version but can't seem to find any online.

I have the original LioConvoy(plus the Flash and Black versions). I really like it. there is a bit of articulation issues with his right arm, but don't let that stop you. He is awesome. the robotmasters version is really good too, but get the original version.

I had the Flash version but I sold it. I must go against the grain here and say I don't like Lio Convoy, and not even the possability issues, he just seemed flimsy and bland to me. A very good looking toy, yes, but not what I was hoping for. The RM version looks just as good as the big one, and might be more of my style, but I can't find one either.

just got mine yesterday. i dont like his head as much as the robot master version. Not as detailed. I probably would havbe bought the RM version if i didnt allready have a hasbro 10th anniversary primal, as i would have bought the RM optimus primal, and then those two woul have been the same size (i'm all about displays, cant have a huge primal and a small lio)
i'm pretty easy to please. I just need a few poses, which i believe he can do. i dont care about play value.
He's a bit flimsy when you are transforming him, but lion mode he is solid, and bot mode he's pretty good too, and he's armed to the teeth.
I love both him and big convoy.
He was pretty pricey though on ebay, $50 US including shipping, not in box.

I'm actually looking for one of these as well, though I'll probably end up getting the Flash variant. I assume there aren't any differences between the two besides paint apps.

BW2 produced the best pair of leaders from the entire BW era imo (Lio Convoy/Galvatron).

to those who own the RM-22 Lio Convoy:
is the plastic ok? by this, i mean is it lightweight and cheap-feeling, like the one they used on RM megatron?
because a friend of mine let me play with the RM megatron and by golly, i didn't think it was a TF at all! i mean, the plastic was very lightweight and stuff. not the one they usually use on TFs.

I have all versions of lio Convoy 3 regular and 3 Robot Masters. I think this is the best beast wars convoy figure except the right arm hindered movement the robot masters version is very sturdy and I feel it was put together better plus no issue with missles. If you get the Robot Masters version I believe the Metallic version is better then the normal red version coloring is much better and the mane on the Robot Masters version does not interfere with the arm as much.

Throwing my input in again, bw lio (non rm) is a bugger to pose, the lion head is so heavy. He is very sturdy and doesn't fee like yu could break him when he's in robot mode. (getting him there is another story). But i am not afraid to twist and sqeeze this guy.
Big Convoy has better posebility then this guy, but he's still sorta cool.
Now you haveme thinkign about getting the RM version.

Why was there a flash variant? Is it storyline-specific?

wow, that's very lucky of you my friend. where'ja buy your RMs? looking for them everywhere but can't find them on eBay no more.

thanks for that info, yeah, his shoulders look very heavy, but i'm glad for the assurance of sturdiness.

yep, i think it's in the BW2 movie (correct me if i'm wrong) but there's a episode in which Beast Convoy (primal) and Lio Convoy combine or something like that, Primal glows red while Lio glows golden-like. Anglomois energy reaction or something like that.

Well, look at what arrived in my office desk this morning...
a package containing Lio Convoy & Galvatron BW2 loose but mint figures!
as promised, here are some pics to update this thread. thanks to all who chipped in their thoughts and ideas with regards to this figure.
Lio Convoy truly is a handsome figure. poseable also, except for that right arm. it really is almost locked in place. he is also loaded with gimmicks. from parts of his mane that open like blades and spin around, secret cannons on the mane and arm, and did i mention his jaws open and close?
the bad thing about this figure though, is that for all his gimmicks, he almost has ZERO playability. yep, sad but true. thad bad thing about him is the shoulders. they don't lock in place, thus his upper body always seems ready to dislocate. too bad, as this figure is an excellent mode and looks imposing when posed with other figures.
despite his flaws, i highly recommend him to beastformer fans and convoy collectors - you won't find any beast version of convoy that is a straight homage to the G1 version than this. as long as you don't play with him and use him only for cool poses, you won't go wrong with this figure. for casual collectors and the like, it's up to you whether you want to pick this figure or not.
oh btw, i got the 2 of these for $31 USD-converted, excellent-near mint condish (includes shipping). pretty awesome deal if you ask me.
