Does anyone know if the Music Label Soundwave will play iTunes formatted MP3s? I've been thinking about getting him, but am afraid he won't work with my collection.

EDIT: I know most mp3's can be converted, but I buy most of my stuff off of iTunes. They can't be converted.

Probably not. Being a fairly low-tech MP3 player I'd assume it will only play files in MP3 format. iTunes prefered format is MP4, however you can change the settings so that all music is converted to MP3 when imported to iTunes.

Failing file conversion, you could always re-record your music in regular mp3 with an audio editing program such as Goldwave... it would be time-consuming, but at least you'd have your music.
I'm sure there's some other less-than-legal way of converting your files you've bought off iTunes...

Search for the Hymn Project on Google. It converts iTunes-bought songs to regular unlocked .mp3s.
Also, converting mp4s to mp3s is very simple. Use the file menu in iTunes.

Or an easier way to convert iTunes songs is to burn them on a CD and rip them out in MP3 format, or whatever other format you prefer.

TBH anyone planning on using Music Label Soundwave as an practical MP3 player is gonna have problems, no internal memory, bulky for am MP3 player, crappy earphones(Frenzy and Rumble included which you have to pay extra for!). He's a toy first and an MP3 player second, the MP3 player is really nothing but a novelty. I want one like crazy, but if I can ever warrant dropping £50 on him I wont be using him as a MP3 player in any other capacity other than showing him off to friends.

Yeah. I figure he'd be fun on long trips. Ya know, to listen to music and have a TF to toy with.

Or you can plug him in a bunch of PC speakers higher than him and abuse him as regular music player (I don't have a CD player and Soundwave is hotter than the PS2 insanely patched into the CD speakers, and Soundwave is cuter than the PC itself - not mention quieter.)
I'm eagerly awaiting the reissue so I get a Soundwave to tinker around with and see what I have available to have him run on the mains (don't like batteries, although the one I used held for about 18 hours).
I also would have never bought a normal MP3 Player, so Soundwave is a great toy with a very nice extra gimmick for me.
